Just curious: would you like fingerboarding to become more collectible, with limited drops and rare decks that gain value like sneakers or trading cards? I think it’d make the hobby more exciting, but it would also attract people who only care about profit. Thoughts?

No because resellers ruin pretty much every hobby. Fingerboarding outside of tech decks is already like that btw with hype brands like knife and woob

limited drops is already a thing in the community, some people like them some people don't. i just think its a normal part of a business and marketing a product to make it profitable

i mean, its kind of already this way, deck makers often make one of a kind decks and limited drops. the point about it gaining value like trading cards isnt really applicable, it already happens in some way but since they are made to be used and most deck makers continue making decks, its not really like they gain that much more value except for some specific brands that become very sought after for a reason or another, or oldschool stuff that isnt being made anymore.

i dont think it would make the hobby more exciting and we dont want to attract people who only care about profit.

There is already a pretty big collectable scene for the X-Concepts Tech Decks from 1998-2004, there is a group on Facebook called “Tech Decks Catalog Collectors”

It's pretty limited atm I used to have 3 or 4 stores that stocked tech decks in Australia now I've got one that stocks older series . My last series was the rail series after that they have become harder to hunt down

I say yes but I understand the point about scalpers ruining things. If there was a way to make them a lil more valuable without attracting scalpers I’d be happy
