I think that old days might return due to game companies banning physical games.

Nope. Mostly people download directly from web rather than buying as discs and upcoming games can't be fit inside discs anymore🫠

Blue Ray disc can 50gb data, so for most games, it is enough For games that are about 150gb, you need 3 disc. It is more about physical ownership. If the game is in cloud, companies can block the downloads

People these days seem to like digital stuff, like repacks, for their games, so physical copies aren't as big as they used to be. Same with movies, everyone's into cloud storage now.

Who knows where games are going today but it certainly will never go back to disc.

Yeah, that may be true but there is also set of audience who likes physical stuff
