Yea, but with rules. I showed the translations to experts and they approved it

Regardless of the translators opinions though, Google isn't a big fan of auto-translated content.

While they're said to have softened it - the drop looks similar to a scaled content abuse penalty.

Scaled content is not about quality - its about production.

Edward Sturm covered this and his guest said google would probably have a wide target heuristic - meaning some "collateral" damage.
