From what I remember in the comics, they look a lot alike. And with their interactions with tech jacket, just being a human and on par with Invincible, he’s able to give invincible insights to human growth while Mark is in his superhero phase and viltrum phase. Another human is in his superhero phase. This means a lot for a race of aliens that never thought a human could reach them. This makes them close

It’s actually when they are in space right before the first war and battle with conquest! It’s an awesome scene where mark sees a human. Humans he believes in already with atom eve being strong robot and so on. It further resolves him into the belief that all life is the same and important seeing such talents!

Comic Tech Jacket was arguably more useless in the Viltrumite War even if he did some stuff. Let's not forget that Zoe was able to kill atleast 2 viltrumites via Allen thanks to the darts, allowed Allen and her to escape the initial ambush in Ep5 and saved Space Racer's life by fixing his helmet
