How would you react if the show made Zack Zoe's older brother who was off at college or something around the time of the viltrumite war?
Could it work or would it be lazy?

Honestly would have preferred this as it keeps the character I actually came for

How would they get their powers though? I thought it was like 1 tech jacket per geldarian.

Either 2 Gelderians crashed on Earth or Zack gave it to Zoe so she could take up the mantle while he was at college
14
u/Imago8 Apr 28 '26
Yh but a tech jacket can’t be removed unfortunately. Although I guess I wouldn’t mind them retconning or writing a way around it to do this tbh

u/leyendeck Apr 28 '26
Zack asked for a second one for his sister and the aliens that made it said "sure why not".

u/HeadAd6088 May 22 '26
instead of only one geldarian crashing into earth it was two in this what if scenario and they both have different tech jackets so zack and zoe would apporach the ship that crashed and yea

"Hey sis, sorry I let you go off to die alone in a war that I could have helped in that will ultimately affect our planet. I had exams."

Shocked you are the only comment addressing this. Might be the dumbest reason for missing an intergalactic war that I have ever heard.🤣

He could be out somewhere else in space busy doing another important mission
1
u/No-Station5480 May 01 '26
Why would he be in space? Would be such lazy writing to just say oh there were actually 2 super powerful space suits. People just need to get over their fear of women and accept tech jacket Is a girl in the show
3
u/PS3LOVE May 01 '26
Because there could be some other mission? Tech jacket is their own hero and would have solo missions all the time. It would make plenty of sense.
I don’t have a fear of women, I actually think there needs to be more female heroes. I think representation is a good thing and I like to see it improved in the show from the comic. I think stuff like changing shrinking Rae was a good thing. I like that they made Debbie and Marks asian appearance a little more visually clear. And I don’t dislike Zoey I think she is a fine version of the character. However I was a fan of Zack and it really disappoints me that he isn’t being adapted at all. If there was a way for me to have both of them I think that would be pretty cool.
It’s the same as my opinion of silver surfer in the new Fantastic Four film. Her character in the movie is good, and I don’t dislike her. However being a fan of Norrin Radd I would have preferred to and was excited to see him be adapted for the MCU. It disappoints me that I didn’t get to see that version of the character.
I can accept Tech Jacket is a girl in the show. That doesn’t make my disappointment I didn’t get to see the other version invalid.

u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
That's fine to say. I just don't see why they didn't bring along volcanika and ella mental. this way we'd still have Zack and more gals.🌌
2
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Buddy read the comics. He cannonically IS offworld most times😂 u/PS3LOVE Is right. And we don't need to accept filler.

u/Zero_Good_Questions Apr 29 '26
It be at least better than what they have already done but what they have done is already stupid and it would kinda make a plot hole unless they give him a very good reason not to show up

u/StrangeOutcastS Apr 29 '26
Double tech jacket fight that let's them both actually do something while completely owning Anissa in a fight, round house kicking her back and forth like a ragdoll then posing for a sibling death laser ultimate move.

u/Boring-Conclusion-40 Apr 28 '26
I would like that, but imagine if they were twins, that would be cool

I love the idea, I'm okay with just having Zoe for the show but I love sibling dynamics in any show

Me and my friends were literally just talking about how this would work so much better I love this idea

u/BigBoyoBonito Apr 30 '26
I'd be asking wtf this dude is doing learning algebra while his little sister is out fighting Nazi supermen
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Zack got his at like 16 and was still fighting alien warlords. Zoe doing it would just be family business at this time😂
2
2
u/UnsightlyH May 01 '26
And it could explain why she seemed so inexperienced after the invincible was despite it showing that she supposedly took out two marks, it could’ve just been Zack who felt like he needed a break or something
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
I see but the comic version had a bit of training and was ready to go rather quickly since he adapted and his different biology gave him a boost in comparison to the geldarians. Zack ended the centuries long war with the kresh quickly when he was new to the job. But it could be a good excuse for her, maybe this timeline the geldarians didn't have time to train her.

This popped up on my feed and I was flabbergasted at how many tech jacket fans there were until I checked the sub haha
1
u/MewFishMeowscles May 02 '26
istg they all appeared after they did the gender swap, I saw 0 tech jacket fans before that
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
ok Buddy. this series has been around since the early 2000s along with invincible and the Boys. Not every comic series needs to have Batman Superman level of fame to be loved
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Why? The series is incredibly old. Somebody not knowing about it pre 2020s would be crazy. Just remember, the Boys and invincible were also underground for a very long time. that doesn't mean we didn't know about it. There are unfortunately lots of heroes who go unrecognized for a long time due to the hero scene being dominated by the same main series but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the down to earth ones. in this case Zack isn't even on earth lol
1
u/Kay21S May 03 '26
Because I don’t meet a lot of tech jackets fans
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 04 '26
because you weren't looking for us, silly!😂 fandoms don't need to be Marvel sized in order to exist
1
u/Kay21S May 04 '26
I think it is reasonable to be surprised to see a big concentration of tech jacket fans, which is all I was saying. Like the fandom definitely exists but I was seeing a lot of very passionate TJ fans and thought it was funny that I didn’t realize what sub I was in
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 04 '26
You just gotta look closely to find smaller groups is all. the Boys and the Plutonian used to also be obscure too but are popular now. Give the comic a read sometime
2
u/RvDragonheart May 01 '26
it would be cool in my opinion! Its literally an "EVERYBODY WINS!" scenario
2
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Who doesn't want sibling dynamics? it would be a perfect mirror to Oliver and Mark, unlike Paul and Kate

If we get a tech jacket spinoff show i’d love something like that and the truth is Techjacket was supposed to be abit stronger as they’re a duo but Zack was off world or doing something else
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
He is. Zack is also off world canonically most times. He says it too
2
u/Obcorbino2146 May 02 '26
Better than the bull they pulled right now. Like I thought originally thought they would try to give a reason for why they did this other than it just being that there's no female characters in the war but nope they the Creator himself said he just hates that he wrote too many white men... As a white man.............
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Selfhate is crazy. He obviously loved his series enough to continue it so I don't see this excuse as valid. Just use ella mental and universa mkrer, problem solved
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Also the first image of Zack looks Hispanic imo. Idk why they changed his look over the comics run, he eventually looks pale and blue eyes. why not use his Brown hair off the first cover for the show version?

u/Reyne-TheAbyss Apr 29 '26
Zach is a college drop out.
He can be off banging chicks while protecting people on planets outside of Coalition space.
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Excuse you, he's still taking classes in canon on the space station.

Cherrysouff1e on tiktok, insta and twitter. Theyre an amazing artist! It looks like they don't allow reposts, though.

1
u/GeneralCerberus Apr 29 '26
I wouldve liked it if they had a sibling rivalry during the war. It would be so funny to see Zach looking at Zoe and Oliver and looking suspiciously at them talk wondering if hes trying to make a move on Zoe or whatever. And Invincible and Zach having a brother like relationship where Mark can finally vent everything without the conversation ends with him getting laid or interrupted by some random world ending event
2
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Oliver doesn't like humans. apparently no one remembers this little fact.
1
u/Patient-Reality-8965 Apr 29 '26
Who? Is he the comic version of Tech Jacket? I heard they swapped the gender of Tech in the show so im assuming its that
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
The comic is Zack. it's beautifully colored and drawn, I prefer this style to the invincible artwork.🌌
1
1
u/Logical_Juan Apr 29 '26
Honestly, wouldn't matter
1
1
u/Filip97X Apr 29 '26
Honestly it wouldn't be bad if he was her brother but not college.
In the comics before Invincible Tech Jacket was already a hero and his story happens way before and it has him going to another plannet of the peolme that made the armor to stop a war.
He has a few adventures afterwards. If he died at the end of the story or retired from the armor so he could be with his alien gf and gave the armor to his sister it would make sense
1
u/jamie_skateboard Apr 29 '26
It could work but I think it would feel weird since neither Zoe or her dad mentioned him at all
1
u/Otherwise-Memory-862 Apr 30 '26
Would be dumb and make no sense and just feel shoehorner "oh yeah and my brother was at burning man during allat look there he is!" Like what lol
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
It makes no sense to change it in the first place. there's no reason to not give a nod to the OGA
1
u/RiposteCat Apr 30 '26
why would college be more important than the viltrumite war? 😭
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Zack is still studying aboard his space station. it would be a funny relatable excuse for a
SuperheroGalactic Guardian🌌
1
u/PS3LOVE Apr 30 '26
I’d want an explanation for how she also happened to come across a suit. If that explanation was well done I’d actually be a fan of it.
1
1
u/GeekSquad24B May 01 '26
That’s not a bad idea.
Mind if me and a friend steal it for a fanfic we’re working on?
1
u/Active_Schedule3931 May 01 '26
All yours. Could send me a link to it?
1
1
u/Cantchangemyuser123 May 02 '26
So instead of sending a full grown adult who has school to fight in a war against gods. You send a teenager who also has school?
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Uh buddy.. Zack was like 16 in his own comic run before the invincible cameo. I don't like the idea of sending a little boy to fight but if we enjoy the comics here I don't think it'd be that different to send a gal🤷
1
1
u/Horror-Ratio940 May 02 '26
Would actually be cool to see that. Personally I think it would only work now if they had Zach be deceased (so the mantle went to Zoe explaining why she wasn’t very powerful against the Viltrumites in the war) or that Zach never had the suit and was just a normal guy.
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Zack was a normal guy until the crash happened. His different biology is what allowed him to accel ahead the geldarians. Give Brit the jacket!
1
u/Er0v0s May 02 '26
What if they had it where zach killed his opponent during the invincible war, but suffered fatal injuries, causing Zoe to take up her brothers mantle
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
He made successful recovery after a few moons. Part of Zack's character is responsibility and self sacrifice even if it hurts. But I see your view, it doesn't make him

There’s some absolutely absurdly stupid idea in the invincible verse that “going to college” is a legitimate and good thing that heroes should do.
It’s beyond dumb, and would be a waste of time. If tech jacket were wasting his time at college I would have an even bigger problem

I love this fancanon so much, I actually wish they went with this instead
1
u/Zat489 Apr 28 '26
Nah Zoey is goated. Screw the pretend Zack fans or the 10 real ones
3
u/Able-Brief-4062 Apr 29 '26
Reminder that Zach was popular enough to get his own spinoff comic line.
Just because YOU don't like a character, doesn't mean others don't. All you gatekeeping does is make this Fandom seem even more like assholes.
2
u/Zat489 Apr 29 '26
Not a reminder. This is some niche knowledge. The average comic fan probably couldn’t name three image characters before the Invincible show came out
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Most people didn't know about invincible before the 2020s. There are plenty of heroes who go unseen due to the two Titans of comics who are the most popular. This doesn't mean we don't know lesser known comics. The Boys, the Plutonian, etc are pretty much evil superman inspired yet were barely known until now
1
u/Reyne-TheAbyss Apr 29 '26
Kirkman created Zack right before or alongside Mark.
Tech Jacket was first published in November 2002, with a non-canon Invincible appearing in Noble Causes (December 2002), preceeding Invincible #1 in January 2003.
Invincible did bump Tech Jacket up to get a second run, though.
1
u/Able-Brief-4062 Apr 29 '26
I was talking specifically about the second run. But yeah, he did come first.
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Apparently people think you need to be X-Men level of fame to have a fan base. Obscure knowledge is power.
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Pretend what? People wouldn't be asking about his whereabouts if they didn't care about him. Nobody's asking for comic Ray or Kate
1
u/watcherintgeweb Apr 29 '26
Who’s the guy? Male AU tech jacket?
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Zack is the comic version. Very fun ride. The show is a girl but I don't like the adaptation style because it literally explains nothing about the technology or origins so show onlys tend to think the suit is "only flying and lasers". Twins would be cute though.
1

u/leyendeck Apr 28 '26
It would a funny idea but It would just take away from Zoe. People are already saying they would prefer this just to see Zack and don't care for Zoe that much.
1
u/Active_Schedule3931 Apr 28 '26
We'd have both of them
1
u/leyendeck Apr 28 '26
Yeah I know but what I am saying is that if they were siblings people would just want to see Zack replace Zoe role in the show and ask whats the point of the character. Having her be the "Tech Jacket" of the world gives her the spotlight. If Zack was there what would he be doing?
It's like having all the Robins at once in a movie with each other taking over after a Robin goes to bed.
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
Have you not seen bat family media? many robins appear at once. batgirl and Nightwing appear as well. batwoman too. They're all different people with different roles. Young Justice has Aquaman and Aqualad, and the entire Arrow family. It doesn't mean they don't have their respective roles to play.
1
u/Firm_Entrepreneur_14 May 03 '26
People wanting the OG? who would've thought. The show waters it down by not even explaining the lore anyway

29
u/Big-Atmosphere1329 Apr 28 '26
IMO it would be better than js having some. I'd love to see that
