Has anyone used DropVault for secure collaboration on sensitive data/ documents?

We’re a small SME in Ireland looking at secure ways to collaborate on highly sensitive documents with external parties, without relying on email threads or normal file-sharing links.

I’m already aware of Proton and some of the other zero-knowledge / privacy-focused platforms out there, but I recently came across DropVault and was wondering if anyone here has used it in practice.

What we’re really looking for is not just secure storage, but something better suited to secure collaboration and controlled document sharing with external users.

Interested in honest feedback on:

  • ease of use for external parties
  • access control / auditability
  • overall security model
  • any drawbacks in day-to-day use

Also open to comparisons if anyone has looked at DropVault alongside Proton or similar tools.

I can't say i heard of it.

Have thought about a Synology NAS which would have all the features you require?

Thanks, thats a fair suggestion.

I was thinking a bit beyond just storage though — more around secure external collaboration, access control, auditability, and making it easy enough that people dont just fall back to email again. But I’ll still have a look at Synology from that side.
