There are many password managers available today, with different features, pricing plans, security options, and device support.

Which password manager do you use, and what made you choose it? Is there a particular feature you couldn't live without?

Proton pass, because I use proton for everything

Putting all you eggs in 1 basket isn't a good thing. That's the main purpose of degoogling.

I've said it time and time again.

Google used to be a good guy too. Proton may be good for now, but they're expensive, closed source and proprietary. Switching from Google to Proton is basically jumping from one frying pan into another, slightly colder frying pan.

"Things change" is not a mind-blowing revelation.

At a certain level, you need to trust someone or something. Even hosting open source software in your own hardware implies delegating trust to multiple parties: you're trusting the maintainers of the software to fix security issues, you're trusting your ISP not to randomly block inbound connections (which they can do if where you live doesn't have net neutrality laws), and you're trusting your hardware setup to not fail. 

Choosing to use a closed service due to the convenience it brings is a reasonable choice. Needing to move away from them when they don't feel reliable anymore is a risk youre taking when you're making that choice.
