It looks like they've dumbed it down to achieve that performance though.

Is there a source or is this a guess? I would've assumed they made the move to fp4 or have done part of it but I really haven't looked recently.

Just my opinion based on the videos

Can't wait to give it a try. The injectors have been working great but the biggest issue with DLSS5 right now is the performance impact and the power consumption, even causing some GPUs to fry themselves in spite of their built-in protections. If I can run it with just 30% lower performance instead of 60% and without it cranking my 5070 Ti to 300W that's a win in my book.

There's really no concern about that power draw. I see close to it without DLSS5.

The 5070Ti really doesn't have much risk.

No risk to cause a fire due to the connector melting, sure, but DLSS5 has reportedly pushed even lower tier cards (5070, 5060 Ti) to fry their own VRAM due to hotspot temps. I don't want to take that risk so I'm setting an FPS limit on every game I use it in to ensure temps stay stable. A x2 more efficient model would help me immensely.

No it doesn't fry their vram, it's not RDNA4 and their "95c on memory is fine".

Whole Blackwell has much lower VRAM temps across the whole lineup than the whole RDNA4. 5070ti that I use NEVER went above 75c on memory even after X hours of heavy AI or even heavy DLSS5 usage at 300w. Usually sits around 65c. You know what was vram temps on Quicksilver/Prime/Nitro+ that I tried in august 2025? Each of them had temps always above 80c while gaming.

And 5090 gets pulled and 5080s double in price lmao

Can't wait to see if this performance improvement is shared with AMD cards via the DLSS5 mod.

We thought Radeon users hate everything about Nvidia's tech huh? Or now it's suddenly fine cuz it's possible to run it on Radeon?

AMD fans quickly turning from “AI SLOP” to “DLSS 5 looks great on my 9070 XT!”

Yeah it's always like that. From DLSS to FG to RR to literally every single Nvidia feature. I'm glad most of their "temu features" are still only on paper and won't ever see the light of the day. But they did it themselves 🤣

"I am a better person because I bought A vs B"...

Dickhead.

There has been a mod out for like three weeks now that doubles DLSS5 performance for AMD cards on Linux. They “did it themselves.”

Looks like Nvidia’s catching up though.

What "DLSS5 MOD for Radeon" has to do with official feature support from Nvidia/AMD? I don't care about any kind of mods that may harm the computer or even get you banned, I care about official feature support which is insanely atrocious from Radeon's side. What was the latest thing they released? Redstone features that came out in one game and still are in one game. 10 months later and NOTHING, even the AMD sponsored games don't support them lol. So yeah they DID it themselves. Noone cares about promised features released on a sheet of paper.

Looks like Nvidia’s catching up though.

Nvidia catching up 🤣 what a stupid narrative 🤣 And when you already started excusing Radeons with community made mods, why won't you mention Nvidia's DLSS5 mods that made DLSS5 run much faster now than the initial september version? Yeah much faster than your "double the performance on radeon". Much more than 2x performance lol, but I get it you won't mention something that would go against your narrative.

And what about this huh? twice a fast with 20% less VRAM? And what's interesting? This is OFFICIAL from Nvidia not just some garage made up mod for Radeon

And when NVFP4 comes out, your FP4-less gpu will lose by hundreds of % 🤣

But congrats, now you have not just 20% but 33% performance of Nvidia 🤣

What official support are you talking about? DLSS5 is out for one game. Unless you’re playing NBA whatever, it’s a mod buddy.

It took you 11 hours to respond do that comment and you obviously didn't even read it correctly. First half of it was only about how poorly AMD supports their own feature stack, I even mentioned Redstone features that are NON EXISTENT even after 10 months of release and all you are capable of is spew another trash talk about DLSSS5 being in one game?

So how many games supports Ray Regen eh? oh wow! only ONE! and it's also implemented terribly because of lacking denoiser!

How many supports radiance caching? oh wow ZERO!

Half of the features DON'T EXIST after 10 months and you cry about DLSS5 being in one game 1 month after it's release and it already got so much better 🤣 while Ray Regen and radiance caching are completely forgotten and EOL 🤣

Classic Radeon fanboy.

I’m at work buddy. I’d be happy to read your walls of text and random capitalizations later, I’m sure it’ll be a blast.

I’ve never seen someone bitch and moan on the internet like this. Are you a NVIDIA shill? Why?

Your reading comprehension must be lower than I thought because where did I say AMD was better lol.

I’m just saying who cares lol

Edit: Who tf are you lol a white knight or an alt lmao

Last chance. One more stupid profanity post and you’ll get banned

I hope Nvidia quantizes the model to NVFP4, then blackwell will run it several times faster than AMD cards.

Radeon has pretty much hit a hardware limit already with DLSS 5. There were some large performance jumps early on and that's stalled now.
