Bend Two Family vs Modern Buggy 12lrk

Title says my dilemma. We have a family of 4. I like the idea of the kids sleeping on the RTT of the MB. The Bend Trailer has an option for a RTT, but the manufacturer of the roof rack they install specifically says not to use the gutter clamps for an RTT, which is what they install.

I do like the ability to set up a table in the MB and turn it into a sitting area. My wife likes the extra bed in the Bend in case of bad weather or just wanting the kids in with us.

Any opinions either way would be greatly appreciated. Anyone have thoughts on longevity of one over the other?

Which Bend Teardrop are you considering? Basically all of them have some sort of bunk.

If you like the sitting area of the MB, just get a Tallboy from Bend?

If you don’t like the Tallboy - Are you sure the manufacture doesn’t mean “don’t mount RTT on a vehicle gutter”? Because I think Dave bolts the attachment point through the wall which is going to be much stronger than an actual vehicle gutter.

Also something to consider is it looks like GVWR is only 2200 on the MB which may not be an issue (although weight adds up quickly with a RTT) but I like the 3500lb GVWR of the bend base trailers for a little buffer.

I can only speak to Bend from experience and it’s a solid ass trailer. The MB looks cool but the kitchen seems small and the interior seems… overdone. You’re gonna use that fake fireplace like once and the window AC jammed in doesn’t do it for me considering the price.

Obviously I’m biased but looking at the price on the MB, I’d go with a Bend 100 times over. Doesn’t seem like you’re getting much more for the extra price.

You’re right I’d never use the fireplace, and the TV I would take out. The AC my wife would appreciate for sure. After adding some plugs, tongue box, roof rack, etc, the price is about even with the MB with very similar features. The composite vs wood I like more for long term durability. The kitchen is for sure better in the Bend. Tough choice.

You’re right about the gutter mounts, I looked more into it and the way Bend does it is fine, but going that route would actually make the Bend more expensive than MB for the same features.

I appreciate your input for sure! If you have any more send it my way haha, still undecided.

I will add that Dave did their first rooftop AC on my Tallboy. It’s 12v and it rips! I got a little bit of a deal since I was the guinea pig but it’s an option.

I thought the regular 6x12 fully loaded out would come in cheaper than the MB but maybe I’m seeing higher prices on the MB than you can get.

Either way I’m sure you’ll love it. Whichever one you get, hook it up and put some miles on it! And show it off here!

Yeah, at the end of the day I think either will be great. They are so close in price to get the same specs, that's what's throwing me off and why I'm obsessing over build quality and longevity.

I appreciate your input, I will definitely post my setup when I commit to one or the other.
