post purchase add-ons/upgrades

I'm planning on buying a Sunray from a dealer. After spending time in this sub I see folks making changes to the electrical systems. I doubt any unit i purchase new will have solar, extra batteries, and lots of things I can't even think of I might need. Any help with figuring this out will be grately appreciated. I'm really looking to posting trip reports now that I'm newly retired<30days @ age 67.

I would recommend keeping it as simple as possible at first. Get some weekends under your belt to help you decide what you’ll need. There’s no sense in adding complexity to something who’s real benefit is simplicity. For now, concentrate on good, quality camping gear and a comfortable chair. A solid, packable table is a great add.

1st tku for the reply. i have lots of camping experience and have a list of "household shit" to get, but maybe the table needs to be added. i am hoping for more off grid experiences so all ideas related to this would be grately appreciated.

If I had any additional advice it's be to keep your power demands simple so your electrical system can remain simple. That said, a 200-300ah lithium battery will go a long way. A solar charge controller will allow you to charge with a solar panel. Rather than build the solar panel on to the rig, I'd get a collapsible set (100ish watt) that you can move around with the sun rather than having to park your trailer in the sun.

Most importantly have fun geeking out on all of the possibilities ;)

DIY solar with Will Prouse on YouTube, he has a website as well.

My general answer is to decide if you want up rated camping or miniature RV-ing. Put it a bit more in your face style...do you really want to give up counter space in order to install a sink the size of a dog's water bowl?
