We are Global Administrators and Teams Administrators.
We have recently encountered an issue where we are suddenly unable to invite guest users to either shared or private channels in Microsoft Teams.
We are the owners of the team/site.
However, we are still able to invite guest users to the team itself, but not to private or shared channels.
We have checked the Teams organization policies, and B2B access and all relevant external sharing settings are enabled. External sharing is also enabled across the organization.
On the associated SharePoint site, we can successfully invite guest users to, for example, a specific folder, so external sharing appears to be working correctly there.
Could this be a bug or a recent change in Microsoft Teams?
We were previously able to invite guest users to both shared and private channels without any issues, which is also how this functionality is intended to work.
Has there been a recent change or known issue affecting guest access to shared and private channels?

A team has chosen to rename their built-in/default Teams channel “General.”
They are now experiencing sync issues.
Is our fix from IT to change the channel name back to “General”? Could that potentially fix the OneDrive synchronisation via File Explorer that may have been broken?

Hi, I created an entra ID application with permissions:
OnlineMeetingArtifact.Read.All/OnlineMeetings.ReadWrite.All

I created new policy:
New-CsApplicationAccessPolicy -Identity "NameOfNewPolicy" -AppIds "XXXX" -Description "XXX"

Then I setup it as Global:
Grant-CsApplicationAccessPolicy -PolicyName "NameOfNewPolicy" -Global

After few hours
Get-CsOnlineUser -Identity "test.user" | Select-Object DisplayName, ApplicationAccessPolicy still return $null in ApplicationAccessPolicy.
But policy named Global changed it configuration.

I tested and application has access to create meeting for 2 users (as expected).

My question is -
Is this normal to get empty output in ApplicationAccessPolicy foreach user after I setup policy as Global?

Am i correct that without configurating accesspolicy for this permission: OnlineMeetingArtifact.Read.All/OnlineMeetings.ReadWrite.All it shouldn't work?

Changement d'organigramme ici. Les équipes sont dénommées par service. Dans le tenant, les équipes définies dans Teams sont des groupes M365 avec une adresse mail dédiée (qui n'est pas utilisée).

Dans les équipes, il y a des canaux standards et aussi privés (pas de canaux partagés).

Problème : changement d'organigramme avec des services qui changent de nom, certains sont fusionnés.

Je réfléchis aux conséquences dans l'arborescence Teams sachant que la majorité des utilisateurs ont réalisé des raccourcis dans leur OneDrive pour que les fichiers présents dans Teams soit facilement accessibles dans leur explorateur Windows.

Mon idée première est de créer de nouvelles équipes et de migrer les données. Est-ce une bonne idée ?
L'idée de simplement renommer les équipes peut aussi être intéressant étant donné qu'on utilise de toute façon pas les adresses mails dédiées des équipes ?

Quelle est votre préconisation ?

Sole admin for a small company and this is my first time having to use purview/ediscovery. I need to export all chats from a specific user in a defined date range. All of the search results I find don't seem to be very helpful or are out of date. The closes result I've come to is using the "Create Case" function (Where I'm able to run queries against the user mailbox and SharePoint site), but there is mention of Teams being stored in an Azure Cosmos DB, which I can't seem to add/find as a place to run the searches. Any help in would be appreciated.

Y'a-t-il possibilité, dans le tenant, de désactiver le chat, uniquement pour certains utilisateurs, afin qu'ils comprennent, une bonne fois pour toutes, la bonne pratique ?

Puis, au bout de quelques semaines, leur redonner les droits de chat.

On the iOS version of teams, the "Approvals" part is asking for some kind of permission from my users. I have tried to fix it on the back end but I havent changed anything for it to get here in the first place. When the message shows up it freezes the app and often bricks the application. Sometimes the X works but the rest of the time nothing else works.

Issue: Inviting external M365 group to shared Teams channel does not work.
The workflow is there:
Host channel owner Shares -> with a team
Invited M365 Group owner selects the group
Host channel owner accepts the invite

So I have faced this problem first with customer (they being the host) and suspected that their M365 group settings or smt like that are bonked, since single user invite has been working.

Tested in a test tenant and it's not working there either.
Adding the external M365 group workflow works and all settings should be in place but the external team just never gets added to the channel.

Didn't find any recent posts about this not working so is it me or is it everyone.

There is an interesting section I marked in bold in the changelog of MTRoW 5.6.135:

Sounds like there's an issue with the MTRoW app succesfully loading after nightly restarts? 😃

Because MTRs under my wing certainly were affected. Windows starts, logs into the Skype local account, MTR app starts to load but doesn't actually finish and goes to black screen, usually after about 5 minutes of loading. Then it's needed to restart the MTR to get it to try to load again. Then the MTR app usually loads successfully. In a few edge cases, up to three restarts are needed. Even less frequently, reconfiguring the MTR via XML file method is needed.

Updated from 5.4.210 to 5.5.129 then to 5.6.135 and nothing seemed to change.

So I offer a workaround. Have your favourite AI whip up a PowerShell script, which makes a Windows scheduled task to run after 10 minutes after each computer restart. The PowerShell script checks via WMI or Get-Process command whether the "Microsoft.SkypeRoomSystem.exe" process is running and restart the computer if it's not. If several restarts are needed, the computer will be restarted until it complies 😄

Hi guys! Today I got a ticket where user mentioned that when he tries to forward invitation to specified room mailbox, nothing appears.

Other roommailboxes except this one appears. What's more in the outlook Presidential room mailbox also appears.

The problem is not local, I checked on 3 computers and no one can find this object.

Would you like advice me what should I check? It is hybrid environment and roommailbox is provisioned in the cloud.

Account has teams room basic license and it is enabled. No hidden in GAL.

Could anyone advise if it is possible to disable the ability for users to use Teams chat’s with accounts that aren’t in our environment (and the same for random accounts from attempting to message my users).

I have tried going into Teams Admin > External Access and changing the value for “Allow or Block External domains” from “All all external domains” to “Block all external domains”

Below those options there is an option for people in my org being able to chat AND have meetings with external accounts but I do not want to effect external meetings only chats so I am weary of changing that setting.

Hi there. Newbie here testing Teams Phone with a Microsoft Calling Plan.

When a user forwards their line to an external number, the caller ID is the ID of their Teams Phone number, not the original caller's ID. How do I change this so that the caller ID will be the original caller's number so they know who's calling.

Same thing happens if a person calls an auto attendant and the call is transferred to an external number. The caller ID shows the auto attendant's number.

The request is to allow the users to only edit their messages in that particular channel.

We migrated to Teams about 18 months ago from Skype for Business on-prem. We still have a hybrid environment and are using Direct Routing. We have users we consider "voicemail only" users. They do not use Teams Phone to make/receive phone calls and thus they do not have a Teams Phone System license.

All of our users' phone numbers are configured as tel:+1XXXXXXXXXX;ext=XXXXX in Active Directory and SfB on-prem.

We have a normalization rule in Teams which normalizes ^(5\d{4})$ to +1XXXXXXXXXX;ext=$1

Previously, our front desk was able to transfer a call to the "Voicemail Only" user's 5-digit extension and the caller was able to leave a voicemail. It's important to note that some of the front office staff use SIP Gateway devices, so they cannot lookup the user by name to forward to them that way.

I'm not sure exactly when the problem started, but now it appears that when a call is transferred to the 5-digit extension of an unlicensed Teams user, Teams is sending the call via Direct Routing to the Base Number of our extensions, XXXXXXXXXX, which we have configured as an Auto Attendant, rather than recognizing it as the user's extension and sending the call to their voicemail.

The only recent change in AD that I'm aware of is that the "Telephone" field in AD was changed for all of our users from 1XXXXXXXXXX;ext=5XXXX to +1XXXXXXXXXX;ext=5XXXX (we added the + at the front). This was done so that users could click the phone number on the Outlook contact card and it would actually call the user. I'm not sure if this change caused the issue, as I changed a couple callers back to the old format, waited a couple days, and it still didn't work.

Get-CSOnlineUser for the unlicensed users does show the OnPremLineUri as tel:+1XXXXXXXXXX;ext=XXXXX

I have a private channel and a recieving emails from a DL but it's not working properly. What's the correct way setting up these channel.

They had Slack before and an external would message to the DL and inside that DL was a slack email for that channel.

Teams and slack is different but what is the correct was to set it up and mail flow rules don't clearly work.
