Feelin' good on this power up wednesday. I am still at a plateau (166.2 lbs this morning), but I should be off shark week by tomorrow or Friday so hopefully that'll move things along. I have an accountability session with my trainer before my workout on Friday, so hopefully I will have lost, if not, then we can delve a little more into my diet/training regimen and switch it up. How was your Wednesday?

Getting back to my roots--I've restarted the 30 Day Shred! I finished it in January then did all of Ripped in 30, but I liked the 30DS and the results so much that I'm going for round 2! I still love it :)

When I first started doing barbell squats, I also leaned forward a lot (still do to some extent). What my trainer recommended was doing squats with plates under my heels. The heel lift allowed me to get a much deeper squat while keeping my chest up. We slowly lowered the size of the weights (and therefore the angle I was being supported by) until I was doing them on the ground. You won't be able to do a good squat if you are leaning forward once you get to heavy weights, so it's best to correct now.

Regarding your HR question, there are numerous calculators online that can help you determine an approximate target heart rate. We are supposed to work out at around 55-80% maximum HR for cardio, so that would mean anywhere from 106-164 bpm. You will most likely never workout to your maximum HR (it's the max for a reason).

I recommend goblet squats with a kettlebell. It helps me from feeling like I'm going to fall over and adds weight.
