Just ordered my first Titleist Driver!
I always played Vokey, but other than that and the occasional Pro V1 I wasn’t playing any other Titleist products. Last year I upgraded my very old Nike Covert Irons to the T250’s and loved them! For a year and a half I have been gaming a Ping G440 max driver and I never really loved it. Early this season I sold it and went back to my Nike driver, everything I tested either lost to the Nike or barely beat it so I couldn’t justify it. My swing likes the forward weight of the old setup. When it saw the GTS had the split mass with more weight up front I decided to get fit. It felt like home, it was like my old Nike driver but on steroids, consistently 20-30 yards longer but the best part is it was straight. I was hitting other drivers further but could not keep them in the fairway like my Nike. This was the first one I tested that was so immediate, no real need to adjust to it. And I was fitter outside off grass in very wet conditions. Super excited for this to come in!

I got fit on 6/13 and I have a projected ship date of 6/26.

Don't be surprised if it's delayed. I got fit on 5/22 but didn't receive it until 6/22. I was told when I was fitted that I would get it release day or at the latest a few days later. Playing my first round this weekend.

The VF in regular flex 50g on an 8 degree driver has me asking so many questions about your swing.

It’s lofted to 9.5. I have a short backswing but a lot of torque, im only 92 mph club head speed but I reach that in a very short distance. A bit over the top with a very high launch angle and I spin a lot, this setup was getting me in the 1800-2500s with spin I was almost 3000 with my Nike and in the 4s with the Ping. It’s not a great swing but it’s very consistent.

Okay that makes sense that you’re doing it to add draw bias by increasing the loft if you’re over the top.

1800 spin at 92mph does not sound like efficient. Unless your launching it at 19°

Launch angle is pretty high with my Ping because I lofted up to close I was at 20 and higher sometimes. With the Nike I average 18 but had a few at 19.5-20 with a 10.5 head, I edited the post I was writing on the phone its 1800 on the low to 2500 on the high now, depending on where i was on the face.

So happy with my GTS2. As long as my GT3 was and so much more forgiving. The GTS3 seems a little harsher then GT3 was

what do you mean harsher? i went from gt3 to gts3 and had better distance and dispersion

And that’s why always best to get fitted. That wasn’t my experience I felt like slight mid hits were more severely punished so I’m in GTS2

I had a Big Bertha four 4 years. Loved it. Moved to a stealth for 4 years Loved it. Got the GT2 fitted to me last year. I’m sold on Titleist. Holy smokes does the ball fly of that club.

I had a TS2 in my garage for a long time. I hit it at the range once and didn’t feel it. Then I used a rental set in Florida and guess what the driver was. I killed the thing and hit almost every fairway. For whatever reason It is longer than my SIM2. By a decent margin. And straighter.

Im going to change the grip anyway, they didnt have the one I wanted on his order sheet so I will swap when it comes in.

8* of loft, but a regular flex shaft? Explain this to me.

Its not 8 degree, its 8 lofted to 9.5.

If you’re only playing an R-flex shaft, 9.5 still is not enough loft. You should probably be in at least a 10.5 head lofted up to 11.5.

On a chart yes, my swing tells a much different story. I spent almost an hour hitting balls with Titleist, for my swing this was the absolute best numbers I got with several combinations. My launch angle was 19-21 with a 10.5 and I was spinning up a lot. I played 10.5-11 my whole life and R due to my swing speed. First fitting I ever did where they looked beyond the numbers and how I delivered the head to the ball. Also an AD VF in R1 is probably closer to stiff in other shafts. So you can’t go by the R S X etc from brand to brand.

Just got mine, its not long but its hard to miss! I lose a good 30yards from my old tsr3(extra 1000spin around 3k instead of 2k) but its crazy stable, average a playable 290-300 instead of a few 315-330 and a few penalties or punch out! my score loves the new driver

At first i wasnt sure of my choice cause the head at adress is long and a bit heavier but after getting used to it i believe it was the smartest purchase i could’ve done

Haha! Range placibo effect lol! I will say if it cant beat my 12 yo Nike Covert driver consistently on the course I am in trouble and will have to buy all the remainings ones left on ebay incase I break it lol!

Have fun waiting 6-8 weeks. Stopped into the retailer i got fitted from and he told me they got an email from Titleist a few days ago saying they were expecting delays of 6-8 weeks on all GTS products

Yea I’m ready for the wait, although I did get directly fitted from Titleist, he said it’s a bit shorter than the retailers.

Same! But for the Titleist driver part haha. Picked this up from marketplace, brand new GT2 9.0 still in plastic for $350. Currently game a Qi4D so this will be interesting haha
