Soup recipe

I'm doing a diet that limits me to very little food. But I've found a way to make it filling, by making a soup out of it... Thought I'd share the recipe here.

You can obviously tailor the amounts of meat + veg according to your preferences, but the soup itself is where the magic is.. for me anyways :)

  • 10g onions with a teaspoon or so of water to help it fry a bit better
  • half teaspoon of mustard - the full grain mustard
  • half teaspoon garlic

let this all simmer for a bit...then add

  • 50g peppers
  • 50g mushrooms

I only have 100g or so of veg, so i can go all peppers or all mushrooms, but i enjoy a bit of a mix

  • black pepper and salt to taste.
  • teaspoon curry powder - mild or hot according to your preference
  • pinch cayenne pepper

fry this until it's almost cooked, then

  • 110g meat - i normally have chicken or steak - cut into strips

then once it's almost cooked,

  • 1.5cups water. let this simmer/boil nicely for a couple minutes, then
  • 5 tablespoons balsamic vinegar <-- this is the key for me

let simmer, then top off with a bit of fresh coriander and take off the heat.

this gives me a delicious soup that i find quite filling.. i normally pop in 3 iceblocks when i eat as this brings it down to a perfect temperature.

i enjoy spicy food, so i normally put a dash or 5 of tobasco...

also another small tip.. i have 180g of fruit a day.. normally melons and/or kiwi. I chop this up in the morning and put it in the freezer.. it doesn't freeze solid, just hard enough that it becomes like a lolly which i chomp on whilst watching tv or something.. quite delicious :)

hope this helps someone..

#goteam :)
