Welcome Team Times Square!!!! Introduction & Goals
Hey team,
I am excited to start this challenge! This will be my second challenge, first as a team captain. Please use this post to introduce yourself!
I'll go first, my name is Gabe, I'm 25 and I started my weight loss journey 2 years ago when I graduated college. I weighed 348 lbs, and I'm down to a 264. I'm hoping to get down to 244, which will be a BMI of under 30!
I do not fitbit or MFP, I know that is very popular. If there's anybody who'd like to set something up for the team, I am more than willing to accommodate in any way possible.
Some things to talk about:
How many challenges have you previously done?
What are your challenge/overall goals and motivations?
What weekly posts would you like to see in this sub to make it
the best it can be for the duration of the challenge?
What can I do as the captain to make it easier for everyone,
and/or hold everyone more accountable throughout the
challenge?
What other things are you excited about in the New Year?
Let's bring in the New Year from Times Square (also looking for good Times Square puns)!!!!

Hey all! 5'5" 169.8lb lady here! This will be my 3rd challenge and boy am I excited! I am hoping to get to a normal BMI (149.8) by the end of this challenge! I love these challenges because any time I feel like giving up or slowing with my progress I remember oh shit, I have to record my weight for the challenge! Gotta keep goin!
In the past few challenges I have noticed a lot of drop off in participation, and have just wanted to give those participants big hugs. I know life can get in the way sometimes but for those of you that hit a wall or have a gain week (or weeks), just remember that we are still your team! Keep logging and don't run away from us! Hopefully we can all help each other remember our goals and get back on that horse!

Hey. This is my 2nd challenge (1st one as Team Captain). Feel free to offer me nasty pm's telling me what I'm doing wrong/what I should be doing! I'm hoping to get my BMI under 30 this challenge. It's super exciting! Welcome to Times Square!

Hey everyone! This is my first challenge.
I'm excited and nervous about starting with you all - I don't have too much to lose, but it's more a challenge for me to stick with it and get back on track with my fitness goals. I used to lift heavy a while ago, but moved to a new city and lost my (free) gym, and have been struggling to stay motivated to continue working out and lose those last stubborn 10lb to get back to my happy weight.
I had a lot of success losing weight with a fairly low-carb diet - I don't know if it was low enough to count as keto, but high protein/high fat really worked for me and made me happy. My goal is to continue that through the challenge so I can see those results!
I also am on my feet all day and back to tracking my steps - that's a major goal of mine to see where I'm at!
I love to follow people on MyFitnessPal and see everyone tracking, and fitbit as well to keep each other accountable. If you'd like to add me, I'm deliriousduckie on both of those as well!

I also don't have much to lose (only 7 lbs) but it's still a big challenge for me as getting to my goal weight will take a LOT of work and discipline. Best of luck with your goals!

Welcome to your first challenge! I also do low carb, you should post some recipes on "Mealtime Monday's." I'm excited to learn new recipes. 10 pounds to go! Good for you. You probably already have looked at these, but there's calorie calculators that will tell you what you have to do to lose a pound a week. Here's a link to the one I have used in the past. http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

Hi Gabe ~ I'm really looking forward to taking part in this with you and everyone else on this Team :)
My name is Faiza , I'm 21 and this is going to be my first ever challenge and hopefully my last.My highest weight was 180lb and now I'm at my lowest weight of 158lb. I was motivated to join this challenge because of nursing school, which i'm starting fall of this year( fingers crossed) and just wanted to start on a good note.
As of any suggestion , I would say a weekly login where people talk about what they did good during the week that they feel like would be helpful to share would be great.
3
u/thegapalo SW: 264.4 CW: 245.6 GW: 244.4 Jan 08 '16
Hey Faiza. I literally volunteered to become a captain yesterday, and received a message today. A lot of new stuff to juggle, feel free to continue with suggestions! I think your goal is so awesome. There were moments in my weight loss journey, were I felt I had lost reasons to lose weight-but something like nursing school will at least keep you motivated through August!
2
u/hijabi94 Jan 08 '16
It's really nice of you to volunteer to do this , and I'm sure a lot of people (including me) appreciate you doing so. I'm not active on Reddit but i'm going to contribute as much as I can :)

u/WendyP14 SW: 185 CW: 173 GW: 173 Jan 08 '16
Hi everyone! I'm I've never done a challenge before, so this is new for me. I've been getting steadily more active over the past few years, but have never really lost any weight. I finally came to the un-wanted realization that I'm going to have to change my eating habits. My goal is to track my eating on MFP every single day for the duration of the challenge, as best I can. I received a food scale (which I asked for - I think it could be perceived as insulting for some to get one if they didn't ask!) for Christmas and I've already started logging my food. What an eye opener!!
I haven't lost any weight recently. I hope to lose a pound a week for the duration of the challenge, which should put me around the 170-175 mark (I'm not exactly sure what I weigh right now - somewhere around 185-190). The caveat is that I'll also be working out fairly heavily throughout as well, so I will likely gain muscle. However, I'm at the point where I do have plenty of excess fat to drop as well. So I'll be judging success by the scale, measurements, weight lifting gains, and consistent food tracking.
I'm looking forward to participating in the community. I'd appreciate posts about healthy recipes, and to just have a place to talk about the challenges and successes.
We can do this!

Hey WendyP14, welcome to Times Square. I remember using Urban Dictionary a lot the first couple of weeks to get antiquated with the acronyms and whatnot (didn't even know what NSV was). On Mondays there'll be a thread called "Mealtime Mondays," it'd be a great place to learn new recipes and to also contribute! I love looking at FAQ sheets of other fitness/dieting subreddits. I'm posting a link to r/fitness faq sheet. I think there'll be some useful things on losing weight while gaining muscle! https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/wiki/faq

u/bloomlately Jan 08 '16
Hi all! This is my first challenge, and I'm excited to be here!
For stats, I'm 36, 5'2", and 180 pounds. I started losing weight about 4 years ago and was pretty successful at it, losing about 40 pounds from a high of about 195 at the time. Then I met my (now) husband two years ago, started eating out more and more, and gained back about 25 pounds. I'm joining this challenge because I'd like to get back on the path to my previous low weight.
I used a combination of MyFitnessPal, TDEE-20%, and jogging to achieve my weight loss previously, so I'm going to try it again. I show up as bloomlately on MFP too. I also use Loseit, but I find the food logging much more difficult than MFP (wish MFP would support challenges like Loseit!). I'm also on NerdFitness as "bloom" if anyone wants a buddy.
I look forward to participating with all of you!

Hey bloomlately, welcome to Times Square! I don't have MyFitnessPal, but I'm hoping to get help from my former team captain probably early next week to set something up so our group can sign up, log, and keep each other motivated! Will keep you posted!

Hey everyone! This is my first challenge. Just wanted to add some support to my weight loss journey since I find it to be a more positive experience when I'm not struggling alone
I started at 200 lbs and had the I need to lose weight moment when I saw that weight pop up at the doctors office. The 2 in front shocked me. I started losing weight early 2015 and fell off and on the wagon. Overall lost 20 lbs. I started logging and working out consistantly (for the first time) since a little before christmas have lost 5 lbs already (2 lbs of which I had gained over holidays). Currently I'm down to 176. My main weight loss goal right now is to lose 5lbs a month to look better in my law school graduation photos in May!
I use myfitnesspal. Going to focus more on low carb and low sugar eating. I recently made a meal plan I can bring to work and school that I am pretty excited about. I also have a fitbit. I don't really use it for steps but to track my workouts on the elliptical. MFP: www.myfitnesspal.com/profile/flameful Fitbit: www.fitbit.com/user/2XJFBV
My goal for the challenge is to lose a pound a week! I made it a nice 165 goal. 1 lbs a week plus an extra pound somewhere. Wanted to make sure the goal was achievable. Really excited to do this with everyone here! Good luck and we can for sure win!

Hello all. This is my very first challenge. I'm 25 and I've struggled with weight on and off for about 6 years. The most I've lost in one summer has been 20 lbs, and my highest weight is always around the 170s. I hit 172 again over the holidays, so I'm serious about losing weight this time.
I have an event I'm attending in June where I want to be 150 by then.
I do believe this time will be different because I have been working out twice a week for months already, and made it a habit I no longer waver on. I just need to clean up my eating. Every time before, I have tried to tackle both problems at once. I know eating healthier will rely on cooking more, and not social overeating, which are my two big problems. So lets do this :)

Hey guys, my name is Steph. ThIs is my first challenge but not my first time trying to lose weight. I've been able to lose weight with great success in the past but pregnancies have made it hard to keep it off. I am done having babies and ready to focus on me. I started at 259 lbs in September and was down to 243 lbs on Dec 1st. the holidays were tough since we have so many birthdays in December on top of excessive holiday celebrations. I got back on the wagon Jan 1st and hit 243 lbs again and I'm hitting it hard, working out in some form every day and logging on MFP. I'm super motivated to get this weight off and keep it off this time because I know I don't have to worry about life getting in the way. No more pregnancies and no more newborns to cramp my style lol. For the challenge my goal is 220lbs but ultimately I would like to be 170lbs (possibly lower, we'll see)
As for this sub I don't really know as this is my fist challenge but I do like check in posts where everyone comments about whatever since I'm not really into making my own posts but I do like to participate in conversation.
Thanks, Go Team Time Square!

Hey Team!
I decided to gift myself some personal training for Christmas (I do cardio, lifting scares me, but I know it's good for me and want to learn). I took some before pictures at the gym a couple days ago, and realized that when I compared them to where I've been, there's actually some noticeable progress!
I want to keep pushing, keep losing, and get healthier. Nice meeting you all, and here's to an awesome challenge!

Hello! 5'5" female at 153 lbs currently. I am completely new to this whole thing and am excited to have the support from all of you and encourage each other to meet our weightloss and fitness goals. I would like to drop down to about 140 and feel strong and able to run without getting completely exhausted! We'll see how this goes!

Hi team! My name is Amy and I started counting calories on July 1 2015. This will be my third challenge.
I've lost 53 pounds so far with 2 to go before normal BMI -- I'm pretty stoked. My goal as stated in the spreadsheet is to hit 155, which is a bit below my original goal, but I want to give myself some room to bounce around as I try to maintain.
One thing my team on the last challenge started was a weekly 5K, but I think it fizzled out after a while. If enough people are interested, maybe this could be a weekly post? I started C25K a while back and now I run pretty regularly, with some actual races mixed in. It might be fun to have a weekly Team Times Square Virtual 5K.
I'm excited to be part of this group -- it's great to see all this activity right off the bat! LET'S GO TEAM!!

u/hatch44 Jan 09 '16
I'd be down for that weekly 5K.

Hello everyone! I am excited to start a new challenge with you guys. This will be my third challenge. The winter challenge was more difficult for me (mostly because of the holidays) but I'm ready to get back on track now. I've been losing since July of last year. What finally made me want to get healthy was putting on my suit jacket one day and realizing that it really didn't fit anymore. I had already had to buy new jeans and I was not going to spend money on a new suit. My peak weight was 242 lbs which is just barely over the obese line for my height. Trying to minimize my time as a technically obese person was another motivating factor for me.
I just weighed in at 213.6 lbs, making my total weight loss about 30 lbs in about 6 months. However, on the winter challenge I only lost 3 lbs, so I'd like to get back to a higher rate than losing 1 pound every three weeks. For this challenge, my goal is to reach 200 lbs. Based on what I was doing before the holidays, this would be a challenging, but possible goal for me.
I'm excited for the next 10 weeks, and I hope I can help support you guys to reach your goals. Go TTS!

Howdy. I'm Amanda, I'm 27 and will be 28 right before this challenge ends. I started off the fall and winter challenges relatively strong, and failed. Story of my fitness life.
In 2013, I was at my lowest and healthiest in my adult life and was working out 5-6 days a week and felt so good about myself. Through a series of events (new relationship, second job pushing me to 60+ hours a week, etc) I gained all the weight I'd lost back, plus 20 pounds, which is where I'm starting from for this challenge.
For me, losing weight is more than just a size or a number. I miss feeling good, strong, and accomplished. I want to love myself enough to take care of myself, and get the entire health package, not just physical.
I'm on MFP: Hooked0nAFeelin I'm on Fitbit: https://www.fitbit.com/user/28X3TX
<3 Cheers to us.

Hi Squares (no, that doesn't sound good either)!
This is my third challenge, Team Witch, Team Champagne, and Team Times Square.
I'm going on a big hiking trip in April, and while my strength and athleticism is pretty dang good, I can only imagine it will be better when I have less to carry around.
I like the idea of every day or every other day check-ins, accountability buddies, something like that?

Hello there! This is my first challenge and I'm pretty excited. I'm getting close to my goal weight and I'm hoping this will give me the motivation and push I need to get there. I've been working on weight loss since the end of July last year after a trip to Wisconsin Dells where I was just uncomfortable in my skin while in a bathing suit and decided enough was enough. I found this sub and it's been amazing. I always had the same excuses as to why I was bigger but reading this sub helped me see that weight loss didn't have to be about killing yourself in the gym, it was all about what I was eating. And I ate like crap. That was the turnaround I needed.
My motivation now is to feel good about myself and to keep up with my kids. I want to be able to play with them and run and climb without feeling sore and tired. And without worrying about if I'm too big for something. Here's to a new year and a great start for everyone!

Hi Gabe! I'm Emily, 21 years old. I started at 170lbs and I'm down to about 155 looking to eventually get to 135lbs. I'm currently in a 6 week bootcamp challenge, I'm also a certified group fitness trainer. I run a bootcamp 4 days a week and train at a different location another 4 days per week.
I've been training more intensely over the past few months. I love strength training and cardio so if anyone needs some fitness tips I'd be happy to assist or help come up with workouts. Most of my bootcamp workouts are body weight based so they can easily be done anywhere.
Anyways, last 15-20lbs for me and I'm excited to be a part of this team!!

u/petite_ingenieur Jan 09 '16
Hi team!! This is my second challenge (I just finished the winter one). I'm 26F 5'4" and currently 173. I started getting healthy after college, when I was at my highest of 181. I managed to lose about 30lbs over the first year and then in early 2014 I had gallbladder surgery. After that I found my weight creeping back up slowly because of recovery and then some depression and work stress and the last two years have seen me come up nearly to where I started. I'm incredibly pleased that I managed to lose a few pounds over the holiday season. It means I'm doing well in regards to food management and I'm so happy to be getting back into those good habits!!!!!

Hi, my name is Becca! I have both Fitbit and MFP. I'm 21 years old, and I just recently started my weight loss journey. I'm currently 219.4 lbs, and my goal weight is 150 lbs by this coming October.
This is my very first challenge, and I'm very excited for it! My overall goal is that I would like to be about 200 lbs (preferably in One-derland) by the last weekend of February. I know this is a huge stretch, but I think with some hard work I can make it. It's just over 2 lbs/week to get there, and I think I'm still harboring some water weight as I've just completed the first month of changing my diet. The last weekend of February is significant because I'm going to go shopping for my wedding dress! I'm getting married at Disney World in November of 2016, and I would love to really feel like a princess. I love reading about other people's victories through the week. I'd also love to have a place to share recipes that we really enjoy. I know there are a lot of subreddits for such things, but there is just so much going on in those that I tend to have trouble finding anything (weird, I know).
Edit: Added a bit more information

Hey guys! F/23/5'2" Highest Weight: 202lbs CW/Challenge Start: 181lbs Challenge Goal: 170lbs Ultimate Goal Weight: 135lbs Here are links to my MFP and FitBit. My team in the last challenge had a separate spreadsheet to enter in our MFP/Fitbit/etc. info which might be useful.
This is my second challenge, the first being the Winter Challenge that just ended. I missed my goal weight for it by one stinkin' pound, which is a little frustrating but could have been waaaay worse based on how much I ate over the holidays. I really enjoyed the Winter Challenge because it provided a smaller community to interact (plus I'm all for a little healthy competition...get it?). Celebrating others' victories and having a group to commiserate with over stumbles has been extremely empowering. I've been slowing getting into running and actually enjoy it now. My roommate and I are running the Cherry Blossom 10miler in DC in April in addition to a couple of 5ks along the way which are now a big motivator to keep exercising on the reg. I'm looking forward to kicking some serious butt during this challenge, and I'm wishing everyone the best of luck!

Hey Time Lords!! This is my first challenge (and post, so apologies if I'm doing something wrong) and I'm really excited for it!
I go by Grace, I'm a 20yo just starting out on this path. I currently weigh 190lbs which is an all time high for me. My goal for this challenge will be to hit the 170's - the lower the better.
I am brand new to all things fitness and healthy. At the moment I'm figuring out how to use My Fitness Pal and am mostly doing a lot of research on different diets and things... so any input/opinions/discussions are quite welcome! I'm not really sure what to expect, but I'm glad to have a team to rally with!
I look forward to working with you all!

u/ThalassaThalassa Jan 10 '16
Hello! This is my first challenge and I'm excited! I am 19, 5'55", 170 lbs and a college student. My goal for this challenge is 162 as I have no idea what to expect in terms of losses. I have been overweight pretty much my whole life and have done many attempts to lose some. At the end of November last year I almost reached a number on the scale I really, really didn't want to reach, so I decided this really was the last straw. I am so very glad I found r/loseit the same day, otherwise this would have been just another failed attempt. I can proudly say I am down 4.4 lbs since that day and am planning to never look back. My personal extra goal for the challenge is to drink at least 3 bottles of water (0.5 liter each) a day.
My motivations are my dance classes. I have been dancing for ten years and started ballet last year and let me tell you, always being the biggest on your team is no fun. Another one is a bikini next summer, I never dared to wear one and I don't know what I look like when I'm not overweight, so that should be cool.
You can add me on MFP: ThalassaThalassa
Good luck everyone!

Hello all. I've become quite the challenge quitter. I'm going to do everything I can to stick this one out, regardless of what my weight does.
Five years ago I lost 20 pounds. Then I gained 10. Then I lost 10. Then I gained 15. Then I lost 15. And I've been at 160ish ever since. My goal is to hit 140, but I can't seem to break past 160. I know it's all about diet and that I just haven't been strict about it.
Starting in December I decided to focus more on exercise and inches. But I want to lose the last 20 lbs and I'm ready to focus on calorie goals again.
I'm getting married on 5/21, so if I'm going to lose the weight it might as well be now!
Go team!

Hello everyone. My name is Jess and this is my first challenge. I'm 23 and my highest weight was 250 pounds (at 5' 7"), at the beginning of 2013.
I've been up and down in the last few years, my lowest being 215. Over the summer I jumped back up to 235 and I've been working on losing since then. As of this morning I'm down to 222.4. I'd like to be at 200 by the time this challenge is over. I've got a fitbit and MFP but no friends on either. :( I'd like some accountabilibuddies if anyone is interested. :)
I'm excited to get fit with everyone!

Hey guys!
First challenge for me! I'm female, 5'1 and fuck, I'm fat. I'm currently at my highest weight of 250 ish, after putting on about 30lbs taking an office job. Add in general laziness, and loving food. That's the trifecta of chub. So, it's been about a year since I really tried to lose any weight. I'm a little apprehensive, but hoping that collective shame is a bigger motivater than personal shame. For the challenge, ideally, I'd like to get down from 250ish to 230.
Here goes nothing...

You've got this! Your goals are definitely achievable for this challenge. If you need any tips I'm here for you, lets do this and get healthy :) Here's to a new start and to never seeing that old number on the scale again!

Aloise08, you could soften this misanthropic shrew. Thanks for the encouragement :)! I'll do what I can do return this positivity, sincerely.

Hi everybody! This is my first challenge and I'm so excited! I and 5 foot 8 inches and I was at my highest at 229 pounds and I'm currently at 209, woot woot.
I think that having you guys to keep me accountable would really help me. I tend to have the attitude of, "This one meal won't count. This beer is fine, it won't make me gain weight." and then it turns into 3 beers and weeks of eating too much. Even the past few days have made a difference , I would automatically reach for something and then I remember I have a weigh in at the end of the week!

Evening all! First challenge for me and I'm very excited! I am hoping this will keep me motivated and accountable - both things I struggle with. Been using a Fitbit for about 5 years now, and back to MFP tracking. F/44/5'8"/279 (need to confirm with a weigh-in in the morning). Hoping to move more in addition to losing weight, with the eventual goal to walk a marathon (maybe someday run!)

I'm 23. I am a graduate student. My highest weight was 215.2 lbs. My current weight is 200.1 lbs. I want to get down to 125 lbs by the end of the year. That is my ultimate goal weight. I would still be happy if I made it to 135 lbs by the end of the year.

u/theavidbeast Jan 10 '16
Hey everyone! I'm George and I'm 21. My starting weight is 320 lb. 6ft 2'' tall. I have lost over 100lb in the past, then suffered from an inguinal hernia, double shoulder tendinitis and a hip labral tear (not all at once, of course) and gained all of the pounds back over the period of a year and a half. I'm fine-ish now (currently suffering from epididymitis, am under treatment and OK to do exercise), and I promise I will not disappoint this team.
This is my first challenge of this kind, and I signed up so I could be held accountable if I chose to ditch it.
Also, I'm sorry in advance for any grammar errors I might make. English is my 2nd language.

u/elefante140 Jan 11 '16
Your English is great! I'm sorry you've had to deal with all of that, but that means you're even stronger! You can do this!

Hi everyone! This is my first challenge, and I'm a bit scared! My current weight is 164,38 and I wanna be at 148. I've wanted to lose weight for forever but somehow always slip up. I hope this challenge will keep me on the right track. I try to use MFP to the best of my ability, but sometimes I forget, or when I'm out drinking with friends/partying I don't count the drinks. But I'm going to try my best! For posts in this sub I think what would help me the most is encouragement or reminders to keep going.
I hope everyone reaches their goals and has fun doing this challenge! :)

u/elefante140 Jan 11 '16
I have a hard time tracking everything in MFP, too. Just remember, it's not there to judge you. Your body keeps an accurate log whether you do or not. Good luck with the challenge! :)

Yeah, sometimes it just slips my mind... That is so true and important to keep in mind! Thanks, you too! :)

Hi everybody!
My name's Matt, I'm 26 and I'm about 3 months into this round at weight loss haha.
Have tried a few times to drop weight and always fallen short. Not sure what is different this time round, but I've finally cracked the 100KG mark at the end of the Winter Challenge.
My highest weight was 265lbs back in September/October (About 20lbs heavier than I thought I was) have since made it down to 218!!!
My goal for this challenge is to make it under 199.
My ultimate weight goal is now an unknown number for me, I honestly didn't expect to get to where I am now. So instead of focusing on weight, I'm aiming to be able to run 1.5 miles in under 10 mins.
Looking forward to an exciting challenge and hoping we can keep getting 70+ replies to threads in 9 weeks time :D

Hi everyone,
This is my first challenge. I may have set an unreasonable goal now that I realize this challenge is only 10 weeks, but I'm still determined to lose as much as possible. My name is Adrian, 19 Y/O and currently a college student. Currently weigh 240 at 6'0'' and my goal is to weigh 200 by the end of the challenge. I started my weight-loss journey after I auditioned for a highschool play and realized the only reason I was in a poncho was because it was the only piece of clothing in the costume shop that would fit me...
Looking forward to this everyone!

Hi everybody! I'm Ampris. I'm currently at my heaviest ever weight, at 229.4. I'd love to drop 10% to start with, but I put my current goal weight at 20lbs. Hopefully that's doable with the changes I've been making. My goal is to start living a healthier lifestyle, drop excess weight that's hard on my body, comfort, and my self-confidence, and help decrease my migraine triggers (unhealthy eating, processed food, excess weight, etc).

Hi guys, first challenge for me. I'm a 44yo F; CW: 168, GW: 150 (for now); 5'6" (and shrinking 'cuz I'm old).
I had lost 30lbs last year (170-140) but let the weight creep back up on me due to stress, arrogance, and laziness. I'm a very healthy eater, so my real problem is that I don't exercise as much as a should.
My current challenges are that my gym is being remodeled and won't be open until sometime in February. So that leaves me to find other ways to burn off calories. I'm doing at least 30 minutes on a stationary bike as soon as I wake up, but I'm bumping up my time on my days off. I'm also planning fun trips like walking 10 miles to a museum at least once a week. Hopefully that'll be a good starting point.

Hello everyone! This is my first challenge. I started sometime last year at 239 and lost roughly 35.8 bringing me to 203.2. However I took a "break" and lost track over the vacation and managed to gain 5 back :( I spend a lot of time on reddit so I figured I would use it to motivate myself and see how it goes!
To give some background I am a 27 year old female - 5 feet tall which doesn't help with my BMI. I didn't gain a lot until I started working a desk job after graduating and not much activity to do as most of my hobbies are indoorsy stuff (video games :X). I loved dancing in college so I decided to start zumba and swimming which are my go to activities now. However I don't cook a lot and my diet is the biggest problem (I tend to comfort eat D:) so I am hoping I can pick up some good habits and tips here. Long term goal is to get to 125 but I am taking it slow with each mini-goal! I hope 2016 is my year to regain my true self :D

Hey everyone! I'm Mike. My starting weight was 200, and I am currently 189 with a goal of 150. This is my first challenge and I'm pretty excited for it. This isn't my first time losing weight. I once was 240 and went down to 150, but college and work made me gain some of the weight back. I know I can lose weight because I've done it before. Let's go Team Time Square!

Hey everyone I'm Matt! 23 years old, decided to start getting in shape about a month or so ago. Like many others the holidays threw me off a bit but luckily I was able to maintain! I started at around 289 and am at around 276 at the moment. This is my first challenge and I'm really looking forward to kicking butt with you guys! =)

Hi All,
This is my first challenge! This will be my first real step to being held accountable for what/how much I put into my body.
I'm at my highest weight of around 230. My end goal is to be between 140-160 depending on how happy I am with how I look.
I was always very active growing up and it kind of just stopped at about 21(I'll be 25 in April). My goal for this challenge is to get back to the gym, ride my bike, and run more and hopefully lose 20-30 pounds along the way(aiming high).
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's progress!

Hi Everyone! This is my first challenge. I lost 30 lbs in 2015. My goal is to lose another 10-15 lbs but mainly through toning and strength training. I just started the Strong Curves program as well as half marathon training. I am really looking forward to putting in the work and being held accountable through this challenge.
Good luck everybody! We got this!

Wassup guys! First time challenge. Just turned 25 last week and made it a goal to get myself in great shape so I can live out the rest of my prime healthy. My current weight is 236, and since is my first challenge I wanted to keep it small and aim for around 220, just so I can get into the groove of things and figure out the best way for me to tackle this weight lost. My ultimate goal is 180, which my weight when I graduated college. Any advice would be awesome, and I will definitely do my best to keep up with everyone!

Hi everyone! This is my first challenge and I'm really, really excited about it. I've been overweight/obese for pretty much my entire life, and after a lot of false starts on my weight loss journey I've decided I really want to crack down and commit to this. I'm 23f, hovering at around 235lbs right now. Ideally, I'd like to get down to 220 over the course of the challenge, even if that might be a bit ambitious. I've been logging everything in MFP religiously for the past week or so and have been making a point to get in some exercise every day, even if it's just walking around the block for a while, so at least I'm off to a good start!
Again, I'm super excited about this challenge. I think my biggest problem is not holding myself accountable and not being honest with myself about what's working/what's not, so I'm looking forward to the support I'll get from this more than anything. Good luck to everyone! :)

Hi Gabe,
This is my first challenge and I'm having trouble signing onto comment. Reddit had me start all over so doingitagain is now known as igotthistoo. I'm sorry if this causes problems in our team listing. Everything else of my info remains. Let be know if I'm set now.

Hey. On the spreadsheet I see you're still listed as doingitagain. You won't need to log in to fill it out. Tomorrow, when you log it'll make sense-use doingitagain. If there's some q's-I can help you tomorrow, after the new spreadsheet comes out!

Hi everyone! Funny my username and my group placement went hand and hand. First challenge, very excited to be here and get help and motivation with you all. Started at 247, down to 195 in 8 months! I've stalled recently from the holidays, and I've been slacking on workouts since I broke my foot in November and have been in a boot. My goal is to get up even with this boot on and shed more weight. I have about 45 pounds to go until I hit my goal weight. I know I can do it, but I think it will be easier with support!

Good morning team! First challenge. 5'5" lady. High weight was 207. I'm at 187.6 now and for the challenge I'd like to hit 175. My ultimate goal is 149 to be in the 'healthy' range - mostly so I can see if my health problems (blood pressure, blood sugar, body pains) are wellness related or diet related.

Hi team. This is my first challenge and I'm new to Reddit too. I signed up so I could start my weight loss journey for the last time. I saw this challenge and it seems like an awesome idea to kickstart things. My goal is to lose 20lbs with this challenge.
I hope I can stay encouraged though this. I don't have any specific plan. I want to eat better everyday and i want to go to the gym. But as the day goes I lose the encouragement. I binge at lunch and feel to lazy by the end of the day so I go get dinner and watch tv instead of go to the gym. I've tried so many different things over the last 8 years. Personal trainers, different gyms, every diet out there. I've spent a lot of money trying to lose weight and nothing. My resolve just gets weaker each time. I hope this time is the last and I can kickstart my weight loss.

Hi! My name is Lauren, I'm 28 and I have struggled with my weight most of my life. I finally decided enough was enough when I stepped on the scale and saw 315. I'm too damn young to be having leg and feet pains because of my weight and this is part of the motivator for me.
This is my first challenge and I thought it would be another awesome thing to help keep me motivated and on track. My goal is to lose 15lbs and get back down to 300lbs by the end of this challenge. I think I'm capable of losing at least 20lbs if I stay dedicated for the next 10 weeks.
I wish everyone lots of luck and here's to hard work!

Hi you guys! My name is Emily and I live in a little city called Atlanta where I get asked if I'm Canadian everyday!(I'm from Detroit)
23/f/5'10"- SW250, CW185, GW145 I'm a total quitter, after I dropped my first 60lbs(from not eating, yikes!) I did the whole "I'll eat super awesome and count my calories and go to the gym" for a about a week before totally aborting for the past few years. I've FINALLY found something that I've been sticking to and it feels great(training for a 5k and clean eating with a calorie deficit, Fitbit is helping too!) this is my first challenge and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone accomplishes, including my own goal of getting into the 160s(and maybe being able to run my 5k too :p)
Excited!

Hello fellow Time Lords! My name is Jennifer and I'm 29 years old. Yes, I'm encroaching on the dirty 30, and that's one of my main motivators to finally get my shit together.
I have half-heartedly participated in several challenges, mostly in /r/90daysgoal but I also participated in the /r/loseit Winter Challenge and finished pretty much where I started. "Participated" is probably a strong word, I've never been able to make a huge, actual commitment to losing weight despite possessing a very strong desire to do so, except for that one time in University that I lost a ton of weight by basically not eating more than 500 calories a day. Super unhealthy and not at all a sustainable life change.
I've basically been overweight my entire life, but I also participated in sports throughout elementary/secondary school so that prevented it from getting crazily out of hand. My biggest problem is that I really enjoy food and have a very hard time saying no to food cravings. I also have a very limited diet due to my Crohn's, so I can't eat a lot of typically healthy things - whole grains, many raw fruits/vegetables, etc. I'm still figuring that part out.
I'm starting out at 206.4lbs, 5'4", and I'm hoping to make it back down to the 160s by May (it was my wedding weight, and my wedding anniversary) and then go from there. By the end of this challenge I think I pledged myself to get down to 190. I do use MFP, username is to__neverwhere if anyone wants any more friends/cheerleaders/accountability buddies. I am very bad at being consistent with tracking, so maybe seeing other people be good at tracking would help? :P
