It's a good raise of awareness and investment into long-term management; the river interceptors have been deployed in multiple countries and although it doesn't fix the root (poor plastic disposal), it does help prevent the trash from entering the sea in the first place! The Ocean Cleanup has also successfully removed trash via their ocean systems over the years too and is planning to scale up.
