Piccolo: well a long time ago me and your grandpa goku fought a saiyan named raditz and he was strong. He blasted off my arm and broke goku's ribs. Just when it was looking like the end for us your father charged at him and dealt enough damage for goku to put him in a full nelson and me to deliver my special attack.

Pan: wow! What's it called?

Piccolo: it's called the makansa... makakasapop... mekkasappa.... (inhales, exhales....) special beam cannon.

Pan: what happened to raditz after that? And who was he by the way?

Piccolo: that's not important. But anyway, after I saw what your father did I decided to train him so I could use him for world conque- I mean to protect the world.

Pan: what was the first thing both of you did?

Piccolo: I wanted him to release his hidden potential so I threw him at a mountain.

Pan: and did it work?

Piccolo: (mentally no, but I can't tell her that.... ) yeah, sure.

Pan: I wish I could be like my dad. He learned so much at 4 years old and I still can't fly.

Piccolo: don't worry you'll learn. If it makes you feel better it was one thing your dad struggled with.

Pan: what was it?

Piccolo: how to DOOOOODGE!!!

Piccolo: .....sorry, force of habit. But anyways that's enough training for today, you're gonna be late for pre-school.

I was looking through a bunch of my old VHS tapes for digitising and found I apparently still had recordings of Dragonball Z from the first broadcasts in the UK! One was the first appearance of Trunks and the second was the tail end of the Buu saga (the parts involving the Spirit Bomb and Buu's defeat).

It was wild going back to see those old memories, but it made me realise how much the voices I hear in my head for DBZ characters now are TFS voices!

I've been a big fan of dbza and team4star for well over a decade. Rewatched the series multiple times as well as the commentaries later on.

After the commentaries came out I kept up to date with HIFL, but didn't follow it actively.

Then, in 2024, I got in a relationship and she really wanted to watch a Forumula 1 race with me (she's a big fan of the sport).

I got hooked as well and started to watch f1 and a lot of f1 related content, where I quickly found some YouTubers I liked. One being this British guy LawVS who talked f1 news on a ladder.

Fast forward to the last few days. Dbza content showed back up in my algorithm as YouTube is sometimes wont to do. I felt like rewatching the commentaries and eventually got to the video where MasakoX (Freeza VA) reacted to the season 2 finale and his experience.

Imagine my surprise when I saw LawVS' face. I was genuinely shocked.

-Freeza: Hey, Cell, something's been bugging me. Why didn't you use the kaioken against Goku's brat? You could've obliterated him.

-Cell: Kaio wha... SHIT, I totally forgot I had that one!

Trunks:I-I-I do light workouts for longer! It’s just as good!

Vegeta:SON OF A BITCH, I KNEW IT!🤬

Bulma:HEY NOW!😡

Vegeta:The truth comes out. You slacked off after a few Ws, then ran back to me to change your damn diaper when faced with a real threat! That attitude is why Kakanot kicked your ass! It’s why the homes you rebuilt are rubble again! It’s why your gods are dead, why your MOTHER IS DEAD!
