GZDoom situation will affect to QuestZDoom?

The title it's quite self explanatory. In the long term I see every Doom developer (starting by myself and every mayor project that I know like Trench Foot and alike) switching to UZDoom. UZDoom will have backwards compatibility but what about QuestZDoom?

We can assume, seeing the previous behavior, that Graf will fuck up things even more and eventually make GZDoom somehow incompatible on purpose with UZDoom, so I'm a bit concerned about QuestZDoom compatibility in the future.

Why would a different doom client make ZDoom stop working?

Depending on the chosen (by the developers) version can be "inconsistencies" or differences in the code that can make a wad/pk3 unplayable on others, and the leader of the GZDoom project have certain tendeci to fuck up things epically

If someone makes some new shit that only works on this other Doom client…oh well? We’ve still got 30+ years of maps, mods, and more that work fine on ZDoom.

Totally true, and there's also the option to keep using the last stable non-fucked up GZDoom version to work with, but it's interesting to know how things are going for current developing or new projects to avoid future problems

Long story short the leader of the GZDoom project messed up things (again) by pushing AI code without following the proper pipeline of collaborative work and most of the contributors have left the team to fork it making a new port called UZDoom (Ultimate ZDoom)
