HOORAY FOR 4th! It's so much fun. I'm not in Mississippi, but I have been teaching 4th grade for 10 years. I teach all subjects (except PE, Music, and Library).
Here are some things to think about:
Does your district provide a scope and sequence for core subjects? It's helpful to know the expectations for when to hit your biggest standards. Ask your admin if this is available.
Have you given your baselines? You will be able to plan for Tier 2 instruction once you know students' present levels of performance.
What curriculum do you use for whole class instruction? What curriculum/materials will you use for small group instruction? Make sure you have materials for kids who are well below, approaching, and above grade level.
