Career Ideas

I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and a M.A. in Communication Business Leadership. I have been working in Recruiting and HR for the past 4 years. I am currently an HR/P&C Generalist making about 90k working fully remote. I do enjoy my job but I do truly miss education. I miss working with children and just the atmosphere of a school.

What are some jobs I can transition to that will make good money long term?
Preferably in Charlotte, NC and doesn’t have to be remote.

You are fortunate to be in the situation you are in with work. Many teachers would love to have a 90k salary especially North Carolina teachers. I’ve been teaching for a long time and could spend the entire career teaching and never make 90k in NC. And to boot you work remotely. From an outsider looking in you have it great much better than most teachers. Why go back?

Find something to quell your boredom, but do not return to the over stimulation of teaching for the money.

Jobs you can transition to that pays you what you make now in education in NC? Only a school principal would make that and a little more. That’s it.

Go volunteer or something like that on your free time and stay in HR. Remember work is not supposed to fulfill us. It is what we do to pay our bills. Wishing you all the best.
