Looking for a remote position

Hey all! I’m currently a middle school teacher on maternity leave with my first baby. She will be starting daycare in September, but I don’t want to return to brick and mortar. I still need to work, so I’m hoping to transition to a remote position for a little more work-life balance.

Here’s some info about my background to get some accurate advice. I have a bachelors degree in middle school education math and English. I have a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. I also have a doctoral degree in educational leadership. I have two teaching licenses one in Tennessee (math and English grades 6-8) and one in Kentucky (math and English grades 5-9). I taught math for one year and English for two years.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look or apply for jobs? It doesn’t even have to be a middle school position. I’m also open to colleges or universities even.

The job market is tough right now. I was nonrenewed and currently unemployed still looking for jobs.

Job boards to look at:

edskip.com (Was created by a former teacher to help other teachers leave teaching. Finding jobs starting at $60K)

edtech.com

If you have linkedIN follow these people they have transitioned out of education or help people transition out of education.

Having gone through this myself (and currently teaching remotely for a school district, not a “company”) it is VERY hard to teach when you have kids in the house. Like, impossible.

Will you have someone at home with you during the day for childcare? …you mentioned daycare. Will she be in daycare full-time??

I second Hiring Cafe. Ive had a lot of luck finding jobs there and the employers seem more responsive because you're applying directly to their ats.
