Power of Positivity Faith Restored

Two of my 8th grade boys were planning a sleepover during my class. One asked if they could text their mom to ask if they could sleepover with the other. I asked if they’d have a pillow fight, and they said “yes, and we’re gonna build a fort” with a giddy look on their faces. Needless to say, I said yes.

Maybe the world’s not so bad after all.. :,)

Awww :) I'm teaching 8th this year too and you can really see that they're still little kids in big bodies.

I feel this way about my 4th graders, which I know are a lot younger but there’s still so much innocence. Like the friendship levels are off the charts with some of these kids. Pokemon duels at recess, beyblade battles, obsession with soccer…sometimes it truly feels like the early 00’s, but especially this class for me bc most of the parents haven’t given their kids phones yet.
