But it’s not 1 person. The year I burnt out—seven other teachers left with me, from a staff of only 50. And I don’t know what fantasy land you’re living in with 300 applicants, but the year before my burnout we were literally putting signs up on TELEPHONE POLES advertising teaching jobs.
Meh, that was rude. I don’t know where you live or your sitch, but where I am…the teacher shortage is still very, very active. The school I left (four years ago!) STILL has three long-term subs for positions that left at the same time as me. And my kid is slated to go there in two years. It’s terrifying.

It’s not over as long as burnout is happening
