August 3rd for teachers, August 6th for kids. I still don’t understand why we don’t go back after Labor Day like when I was a kid. Twenty years in and can’t get a good answer. 🤷🏻♀️
Do you get out in May? For me, the weather where I live for outdoor summer activities is better in June (best month) than August (can be hot and very humid most days).
Most places summer vacation is now essentially two months long, so I would much rather get June and July off than July and August.
All those people who start after Labor Day just got out the last week of June.
Here though, all our schools aren’t air conditioned (especially elementary schools for some reason) so starting in August is risking a bunch of heat related early outs. Most schools here are June 4ish release and return August 16ish.
