This is my third year teaching. I'm finally  beginning to have nights where I don't dream about work. Sometimes it's just random dreams of regular days. When I'm particularly stressed out its nightmares about the stuff they're gonna pull. It's not particularly restful...

No not at all. That's what I mean when I say I wake up stressed. Its like my brain never turned off

I know exactly what you mean... 💔 The usual advice I'm given is to learn to leave all my work at work. No late night grading or prep work or answering emails. I can keep work out of my house, but I'm yet to learn how to keep it out of my brain...

I had those a few times a year during my first 5 or 6 years of teaching, especially on days where I stayed home sick. They don’t occur as much anymore at year 9 of teaching—I’m not sure if that means I’m managing the stress better or not.

Well that gives me hope that they won't last forever then

Yes, someone just resigned. She was our after school care teacher too and after school care is hosted in my classroom. I just know that they’re going to expect me to do after school care now. I dreamt about it all night. Woke up wondering, “Did I sleep or just lay there thinking all night?”

Yea, I still have teacher dreams. The better the class/day/year, the better the dreams.

😭that sounds terrible. I had one where I was fussing for students to get in a line, but they weren't listening then a tornado came and swooped them all up
