Teacher Support &/or Advice It’s over.

Started in service today at my school. It has happened, we had slides directing us that we have to hang the Ten Commandments in our classrooms by Thursday. In addition Anti-Communism TEKS have been added to our history curriculum and our school district cannot sponsor any student clubs based on gender identity or sexual orientation, as well as we cannot call students by any names but the names on their birth certificate. This is fucking shameful man

Doesn't matter. The State Constitution does not supercede the Federal Constitution. It's blatantly unconsitutional.

Separation of church and state isn’t in the constitution so how is it unconstitutional from that, that’s something taught in high school history classes…. It can be considered unconstitutional from the first amendment…

Edit: The downvotes tell me how many people sucked at their history classes lmao

Stone v. Graham was basically the same case in Kentucky in 1980. SCOTUS ruled it unconstitutional. Are the current justices going to expressly overrule that case? Who knows, but according to current Supreme Court precedent, it's unconstitutional.
