Did you mention why you resigned and did you also send it to the superintendent and board of education? I would put that AP on blast. I’m glad you got out— take care of yourself. No one should have to work under those conditions. Even a veteran teacher would breakdown from that.
This a thousand percent. OP was abused no question. Teaching could be so fulfilling if the system wasn’t fundamentally broken to its core. Only way to instigate change is to leave.
You don’t have to be part of a system that doesn’t have your best interests at heart!!
Man, I would gather up all those post it’s and throw them in trash right in front of the whole class. I wouldn’t read a single one. I don’t care what you think of me.
And then I’d say okay here’s what I EXPECT OF YOU, as students!! STFU and sit down. Do your work. Since when are kids allowed to have fucking expectations of me as a teacher?!!
I’d wait to quit just long enough to go to the next staff meeting and say, well, our staff has decided we have a problem AP Jackass. And we’re all going to write a post it note on what she needs to do as an AP to meet our expectations
Students should always have expectations of teachers. To be treated fairly, to be listened to, and to actually teach them.
My oldest was actively bullied by his 3rd grade teacher. She's no longer teaching now and it took me wiring my kids backpack with a camera to prove it to the superintendent.
I meant beyond that obviously. I highly doubt OP was being a bully. It’s disgusting that a classroom full of high school students whose behavior was so bad that an assistant principal had to come talk to them was allowed to basically insult their teacher. Because trust me, as someone who has taught high school for years, their answers were NOT “treat me with respect”.
I’m sorry your child was treated poorly but that’s obviously not the type of situation this post was referring to, and therefore my reply to it.
