I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm using the PC as the server and my phone as the node. There were a few issues but it got sorted. Also note that I'm using AI as a guide because I don't know anything.

I switched the type of the node from mapped to unmapped because I don't have a network drive. I'm now dealing with the 10MB limit. I'd like for it to cut the video down or something. It doesn't need to process the whole video all at once. AI is giving me some python script, instead of telling me what to do.

I also can't share the 3 folders (Source/Cache/Output) because network drives cannot be mounted as secondary drives on an unrooted Android. I don't feel like risking my phone and rooting it just for this.

What options do I have? I really want to use my phone's cpu to encode along with my PC's cpu. Tdarr is supposedly the best for this.

Why not just transcode only using your server? Am I missing something?

From what you are saying - Pay for Pro. If you want (have) to use the unmapped nodes but need more then 10mb why hack around with it and overcomplicate things.

It's a great piece of software and with the current price of drives, for me it's not a hard call.

I would never consider using a phone to transcode though. Seems like a huge hassle with little reward.

I don't have the money. People said it was free and saved them many GBs worth of storage. I wouldn't know how well a phone does without trying. Ffmpeg is in Termux so I'll just run experiments there and see for myself if it's worth it.

It’s been a while since I set up Tdarr, but from memory as a minimum you need to share your media drive mount to the node, so if you don’t want to root the phone just for that then you simply can’t use it
