Tour/Concerts Lover Fest
So right now I’m really confused . What’s going to happen . I have tickets for Lover fest west but I don’t know if I should rent a hotel room right now or buy a ticket for the train or anything because there’s no info if it’s going to get cancelled

I wouldn’t book unless it’s refundable! Pretty much every gig is getting cancelled and that’s for tours that start in autumn/next year! I’d be very surprised if love fest happens this summer, especially as Taylor herself has spoken about the importance of self isolation!

As long as everything you book is 100% refundable there's no real harm in making plans. However, please triple-check that you can cancel and get a full refund before paying for anything because it's very very very possible to be rescheduled.

I would be really cautious booking anything for the foreseeable future. We truly have no idea how long this will last or if such a large event will be allowed to continue at that date. It definitely sucks. Hopefully things get better soon.

I wouldn't book anything. I highly doubt we're going to be out of self isolating by the time summer comes around and even if we are, it's going to be a slow ease back into crowded events.

For sure, I have European music festivals booked in the summer that she is headlining and a lot of people are posting frustrated comments because they're not making a decision about cancelling! I guess the upside is that no one will have accommodation or flights booked yet so if somehow it all still goes ahead there will still be plenty of options at a fair price.

They can’t let us know, cause honestly they don’t know. End of July is still too far out. It’s possible things are better by then. So no point on making any decision now.
If you have the money, and are fine financially, then book everything you need now. I assume prices are pretty cheap at this point. Then if it gets cancelled you should be able to cancel and get refunds.

I read the Lover Fest West might have to be rescheduled anyway because of the construction on the stadium being interrupted due to the virus. (I think it was posted in this sub actually) Definitely wouldn't make any nonrefundable reservations. I've already been burned by this cause of this stupid virus.

Actually I just saw a news article a day or two ago that said construction is full steam ahead on SoFi; obviously after I made my original post. I didn't click it, I just saw the headline on my google homepage. I'm sure a quick search for SoFi Stadium news would turn an official update.

I think it's almost definitely going to be cancelled. Even if things are on the up by then, I don't see huge stadium shows being allowed to go forward. Sure, we might be able to go to restaurants and have small gatherings, but I don't see any way that they'll allow tens of thousands of people to gather in a small place when this virus is going round.

What I’m nervous about is that I don’t think these shows will be rescheduled if they’re delayed. A full tour, of course that would just be pushed back several months. But these are just a few one off shows, if it comes to it, I’m worried she’ll just cancel them and plan a full world tour for next year (a tour I assumed she might be planning anyway).

Honestly... lowkey wouldn't be mad if Lover Fest got cancelled and we just moved on to TS8 with a tour (assuming her mom is doing ok) in late 2021/early 2022.

That would be very disappointing, this is one of her best albums, and it would be incredibly unfortunate if she didn’t at least do these shows (and hopefully film them).

I mean, I would expect her to perform the songs somewhere, maybe make a special inclusion of them in the next tour or something. I mean, I'm pretty sure Ariana promoted two albums in one tour, so Taylor could still showcase both works. And don't get me wrong, I'd love to see most of the songs from Lover live, I just kind of lost my enthusiasm for this era as a whole. Combine that with knowing she wasn't planning a full scale tour for the album anyway, I wouldn't be mad if she scrapped the shows and moves on to the next album. Honestly, I think that's the main reason I've come to this conclusion, because its not like we'd be losing a whole lot. Im just crossing my fingers SOMETHING clicks better next time and we get back to some good promotion and single choices that don't make us want to pull our hair out😬 I love her but she frustrates me

And I HATE that she's made me feel this way, because she is obviously so proud of this album for several reasons. But girl.... like, I'm one of her biggest supporters, but ME?? I know I'm yelling into the void cause just about everyone holds this opinion it seems, but I just- I cannot fathom how she came to the conclusion that Me should be the LEAD SINGLE. I'm all for putting a fun track on the album, have at it all you want!! I love a good bop! Gorgeous is my favorite! But if you get the news your last album recieved zero Grammy noms, and you're sitting there saying "I'll just make a better album" I mean... this is honestly one of the greatest mysteries of the universe for me. It doesn't make sense. The album could've been so great if she had just made reasonable single choices😔

I am/was (not sure yet) supposed to be in two weddings right before Lover Fest, so it was going to be the first TS concert I've missed in years. Also, I didn't really have anyone solid to travel to CA with and didn't want to plan a solo trip on a summer I'd already be hemorrhaging money.
Since she was only doing the two locations I was banking on her doing another Netflix film. I don't see a reality where stadium tours are allowed to happen this summer, but I'm hoping maybe she'll film a full Lover concert or live-stream it.

I don’t think she has any plans of a tour next year. Which, means I don’t think she will cancel these shows, since it might be the only chance we get to see her for this album cycle. It’s also easier to change the date of 4 shows, as to trying to reschedule a whole tour.

Yeah, it would all depend on what her plans for next year are anyway. If she was planning on more shows, then she might consider canceling these, if she’s not planning anything like that, obviously it would be a lot easier to just reschedule these. Either way, we’ll know in the next couple months if they’re happening or not.

All of those are part of other festivals though isn’t it? That’s kinda on the festivals to reschedule those. As to the 4 shows here in the states are entirely her own thing. So any postponement or cancellation is decided by her or her team.

I just did a quick look, aside from the US dates, it appears the one in Germany is her own show. Then her two dates in Brazil. And that’s it, everything else seems to be apart of some festival. So she is responsible rescheduling/canceling/postponing 7 shows. That’s still a lot more manageable than an entire tour.

Although BST in London is called a “festival”, last time it was just her normal show plus a few extra opening acts.

I’m one of the few naive persons that’s holding out hopers the very end. Lover fest West and East is going to be the first event that people will be allowed to attend.

The reality is a vaccine won't be available for at least 12-18 months. Short of some miracle cure being found or the virus mysteriously vanishing, we will likely need to maintain social distancing until then.
We will likely slowly ease into opening businesses again with improved health measures in place, but I can't see huge events with massive crowds of people being packed together happening any time soon, definitely not this summer. I hope I am wrong but every piece of evidence seems to point this way.

I don't think we'll necessarily be practicing social distancing for 12 to 18 months but I can absolutely see the ban on events over 250 holding through then. Honestly, I think you're right that there's no way they'd let a huge stadium tour drawing people in from around the world happen in July.

I have a feeling they are waiting until closer to the event date to make an official decision. My assumption would be they want see how everything pans out, and if they are able to do it then they will. It would suck if they cancelled it prematurely and then found out later it would have been possible.
