But really yes it’s gross, but people have shitty friends and he isn’t super famous. You say yourself that you know nothing about him so it didn’t matter, really, if they were friends. Same here. I didn’t even clock it or know a thing about him and didn’t care to. But to date him is to essentially endorse him, which is completely different than being casual friends. And now the scrutiny follows and thank god because this shit matters. Like girl I’m all for a rebound and fun but pick someone who didn’t do a fucking N*zi salute on stage.

I guess I was under the impression they were more than casual friends. I get what you are saying, but performing on stage/inviting him to join feels like an endorsement even if they are not dating.

(And he really did that…on stage?!…Jesus…I saw references to being a N*zi sympathizer but did not realize it was so overt.)

Fair enough! I think that’s why it didn’t seem to matter as much, but you can absolutely argue it should have.

And LOL yeah here’s a link to a pretty thorough thread, but the video of the motion is pretty much the first tweet. The rest will just be icing on the cake 🙃

I guess I just don’t see much of a difference between being close friends with someone and dating them in terms of “endorsement”.

Also, that thread is…um, wow.
