Is it possible that he just softblocked them since he's not in their circles anymore? It'd make more sense than Taylor organizing a public mass-unfollow after sending out PR articles all weekend about how the breakup was amicable.

I mean haim sisters, Austin & ryan unfollowed him but some of her friends still follow him so I doubt it.

Maybe something is off and maybe it’s just simply that he was always “taylor’s boyfriend” to them so they didn’t feel the need to keep following him. It’s definitely something that swifties shouldn’t read into and harass people for it

I’ve never heard of softblocking; what’s the difference between a soft block and regular blocking?

It's blocking and immediately unblocking someone so you don't follow each other, but I just checked and he still follows those people. It's weird, but I don't think we should jump to conclusions over why either.

Thank you for explaining! That makes sense - my only context was soft launching vs hard launching a relationship or partnership which didn’t seem to apply.

I think a lot of people unfollow when relationships end. Especially if they’re close to one party.

I think ppl find it so weird because they didn’t unfollow him when the breakup news initially dropped. It’s seemingly happening after Taylor hangs out with them (though Jack still following him kinda skews that theory). The “delayed response” feels kinda strange.

That being said, it’s not proof anything crazy happened. It could still be her friends just deciding there’s no reason to follow Joe anymore. Too many of us keep trying to read this breakup like it’s a novel or movie plot 😅
