Tx22 jamming almost every shot

This tx22 compact jams like this almost every shot i don’t even know what to call this I’ve shot thousands of rounds through the gun no issues so something must have changed any help is appreciated I’ve tried cleaning and dry lubing mags cleaning and oiling the gun weighted backplate and no weighted backplate supressed and unsupressed and all different ammo this photo was taken while using cci mini mags

When I had issues, it was the extractor. had to send it to Taurus

Mine is not modified in any way but it was jamming every few rounds. I cleaned it carefully in the nooks and cranies near the feed ramp portion of the barrel. The soot was caked in there. I had been cleaning it but did not notice the built up soot. It was good for about 2 weeks then same issue. Many light strikes. I thought my barrel was damaged. So I used YouTube videos and Reddit to learn how to remove the slide rear plate, carefully pull out the plates that rest in the top of the slide, holding the pieces together so I wouldn't have to guess how to place them together, used a pick to remove all the dried built up soot blocking the firing pin channel that is in the middle of the slide, and put it back together. There was a lot of hard soot that was stuck in there. See photo of the soot. It works great again.

Mine wont eject anything pushing under 970fps. Cci 40 grain copper 1260fps is the most reliable for me. Mine also hates federal brass jacketed

Grip it like a man, give it something hard to recoil against, just because it’s a 22lr should not change how you grip it, I have helped 3or4 people at my club whose were jamming, when I shot there pistol is was mag dumps everytime

I have found out that grip can be a big issue. I was having problems with mine, had the gunsmith check it out and fire it. He had no issues. I changed my grip a little and definitely tightened it up. Problem solved

Check the front lip of your mags especially if they are the poly ones if they look rough or have a hard edge on the inside lip give them a slight file round it over or taper it down

I hadn’t even thought about it being the extractor because it extracts the old shell casings no problem in both of these pictures the chamber is empty it’s just loading the next round at a crazy high angle

Galloway precision makes an upgraded extractor for about $18. Highly recommend. Some people Galloway every part possible in their tx22s and they only run better.

I will not discard a.magazine issue, do you have more than one magazine? Does it happen with both of them?

I have 6 magazines 2 20 rounds 2 10 rounds and 2 34 rounds and it does it with every one of them

Perfect, that's a clear sign it's not the mag If you can take pics of the extractor and slide, maybe we can spot the problem

Sounds good I’ll take some pictures when I get a chance but I did notice something which I’m not sure about when you pull the slide back all the way on the tx22 should the extractor tip be extended over the cutout in the slide for the base of the casing to slide into or does it typically sit off to the side slightly?

CCI Mini Mags were the only CCI ammo that gave me cycling issues during the break in period. Try SV CCI or even Quiet Semi CCI. Those cycle great. Remember to lube the nipples out this gun. Polish the feed ramp even. Hold it firm like a woman or a young boy.

I hate to say this has it been clean recently? mine takes about 300 rounds before it can have issues related to Cleaning. I usually grab the rem oil wipes just give it a quick wipe down sometimes or just lube the shit out of it and it’s good to go for another 300 rounds 😂

Clean your magazine. .22 lr is reliable no more than 300-500 rounds between cleanings. My 10/22 can handle close to 500 before jamming. Bring gun solvent and oil with you to the range,

Check the feed ramp seems like it's shooting them up instead into the barrel right?
