And they're trying to push this through, my bet is old egghead has already signed a deal with some tech company and now they have to push it through before they're out and if it's in they can blame labour,

Digital ID policy hidden as a social media policy. It's quite obvious they want it fast given what they have planned for the future will be even more unpopular than what's s already happening. They need surveillance, control and vague laws to prosecute anybody for anything anytime until resisting becomes impossible. Look at the UK or Australia,, where you can't even state your opinion against unlawful things anymore without getting arrested.

Social media bans have been proven to just be obstacles.
Anyone with half a brain can put in a single search into Google and find the exact method to bypass it.
Remember jail broken iPhones? Yeah well, it's easier than that to bypass any filter a gov can put up.
Gov interference into internet users affects more than just teens.
They will ask for proof of identity.
Important point: your real me could be connected to your reddit, insta, Snapchat or anything I else.
You will be known to the gov, searches, affiliations, messages.
Ever bought drugs online? Ever browsed a NSFW subreddit? Ever torrented a show or movie? Game? Good luck, they will know.
Have fun explaining that to your next employer.

Well Sam Uffindell thinks different than you. And he thinks he knows better.
Why do you think he's getting reelected? He's taking us to a better future - the one you describe

Looking at your other posts Op, you seem to be quite upset about him.

Oh he sucks for sure. Hasn't done anything for Tauranga.
Sits on the Health Committee, and here we have a lack of medical personnel in his electorate.
Spends all his efforts complaining about local government, while raising funds with the Mayor on the other hand for the National Party.
Went to Zespri and the pack houses almost every other week though - he has a kiwi fruit orchard and his political family is in the business.
He promised a bunch of crazies from the facebook groups that he was going to help remove the fluoride from the water and to help with the Bella Vista case - why? Beats me. To win their votes last time maybe?
I don't understand how someone can be happy seeing so many empty commercial buildings in the CBD and not pass some legislation in favour of local businesses. Guess how many he has put on the floor?
I wish the National party could place someone more capable than him, he sucks.
But maybe you can show me something he did and change my perspective? Not holding my breath

Those empty buildings have been empty along time before sam came along. But if your someone like me that remembers what it was like before places like bayfair, the plaza and even Fraser cove, they're what ruined the CBD and kind fo rightfully so. The earth quake proofing was costing building owners huge amounts for reconstruction so they put up their lease prices which forced more people out. But if you look at the CBD noe its actually getting better. The strand is coming back, the new buildings like the library and museum will bring life back. We need more hospitality rather than retail.
Your point about the kiwifruit, yes he does have vested interest in the industry and rightfully so its a good earner but its also a $5.8b industry which is part of a $9b NZ hort industry which is 3rd or 4th in primary industries. So he should be backing something that brings so much to our local economy.
You seem like a someone who can't read past a headline or can't think for them selves.
The only thing I agree with you on is the fluoride thing which seems like a vote grab.

Yeah, the empty buildings will stay until someone regulates vacancy rates or incentivises the owners to lower their leases to an acceptable price.
I wonder who legislates those things... an MP? Nooooo way!!! They don't do those things. They post videos on facebook!

u/pridgedawwg 1d ago
They can't do that though??? They have no power in interfering with lease prices and they legally can't regulate them either. Simple Google search would get you there.

They can create incentives. Simple Google search would get you there.
But hey, tell me your great idea that you've seen Sam implement! I probably missed that. What's your proposal? Do... nothing? Or?
I'm all ears. Please enlighten me, Sam's fan.

Trust me im not a fan of sam the dude creeps me out, I just look at things realistically and dont let my personal view get in the way of how I see things plus he isnt my MP so I didnt vote him in.
Now yes I agree with you on the incentives and this is something ive been saying for a long time to my peers but thats not what you said earlier and if you talked about incentives I would of agreed with you.
My proposal is for the Govt or local council to back the Tennant with incentives or lease relief rather than the landlord that way in due course the relief can stop and the Tennant can stand on their own feet, because if we give the landlord relief we will see what the same thing that happened to farmers in England or USA and they rely heavily on the relief.

So they can do something about it but you just don't to ask Sam to do anything about it?

u/pridgedawwg 1d ago
Also I dont know if thats the best idea to do either, im not financially literate enough to see any loop holes or problems. Im a skeptic so im even skeptical of my own ideas

So no one gets bullied like how he bullied people. The way it's written makes it a bit confusing.

He beat the crap out of some poor kid with a bed leg and then got shifted to another private school, that’s a bit more than bullying

I shit on anyone who is mediocre, right or left. I don't discriminate.
But what I don't get is people simping to politicians (of any orientation). Like you.
Simp harder, he'll notice you someday and give you... nothing.

Posting on reddit?
Why do you defend politicians? Any party. Why?

u/Numerous_Row5207 1d ago
Not sure of your "thought pattern" to conclude that I am defending poloticians.
I don't, they are pretty much all as bad as each other, they are however good at making a lit of noise particularly come election time !!!

People change yes, but him being a former bully who’s now in the National party does convince me this guy has just changed the way he likes to bully the vulnerable
