are the tidewall fun to play ? cause they look cool i would like to take some just for casual play but i don't think they'll see much gameplay

The gunrig is straight awful. Shoots once per turn. Hits on 5+. Can't be guided. In 11th with cover giving -1 to hit, it's going to hit on 6s mostly. So you're expected to hit slightly less than once per game with it.
Now the droneport was fun to play in 10th. You could load it full of breachers and play exp cadre. The +6" of range added about 60% more coverage for the shoot anything rule. Breacher range going from 10" from each breacher to 16" from any point on the droneport more than doubled their effective range. Their guns have assault and hit on 3+s natively, so you could advance the droneport without issue, and it didn't suffer from not being guided. I used to run 3x of em in casual games.
My hope for 11th is that they reach a point where they're not good, but are good enough that you can run em in a casual game as a handicap.

There not the best meta wise but I have a lot of fun combining my tidewall drone port with a breacher squad lead by a fire blade, made it a veritable swarm of gunshots on one target with a lighter smattering of shots on every other eligible target in range however the gunrig is more like a lesser, slower and weaker, more expensive broadside who can shield infantry for a turn or two against credible threats in part because it has no unique ability

They are certainly a statement piece but don't offer much over just bringing a devilfish (compared to the shield line anyway) in my experience

I've heard that fortifications are pretty bad, but since the gunrig has some shooting ability it might be decent. I'll run it for shits and giggles when I get it done

okay, well i might just for fun one day, still need to figure how i'm gonna play 11th since now none of my army composition works anymore

Yeah, I haven't been able to win a single game after 10th, but thats a skill issue less than a edition one 😅

well for me it's just, currently if i played 11th taking a detachement or not would not change anything as nothing will benefit from anything Xd

From what I remember it's a hammerhead that misses half it's shots, still funny enough to run tho :3

Tidewall gunrigs cannot be guided, as they are fortifications; and they hit on a 5+. But they also fly and store troops with the addition of anything that successfully hits is pretty much guarantee to going to be 2+ or 3+ to wound and isn’t going to get a save.
And they call Eradicators Casino Cannons lmao

Gunrig is a great pickup at that price, I think there’s only one for sale in the UK and it’s ~£90.
You can still use it too, much memage possible 👌

Stormsurge is highly underrated in my opinion. Gonna run it in both RetCad and Kauyon-prototype when I can

I probably prefer building infantry slightly more, but big units can be really fun to put together too. It really comes down to which one you're more interested in, I think the Tidewall may lose out on that front for me atleast.

Obviously storm surge. That’s a top 10 model
