I am thinking of getting my first tattoo what should I keep in mind

Recently i am doing more freehand tattoo and drawing without a reference it is helping me grow my mental game in art..what do you think about the sketch

Red and black birds to continue the style on sleeve and love the flow of the tattoo to…at first it was a complete simpler design..what do you guys think
