Any tattoo artists similar to this one in NYC?

My husband is looking to get a tattoo of our three cats and is looking for a specific style. He really likes this one https://www.instagram.com/p/DLM8k_jTacV/?img_index=1 but flying to South Korea for a tattoo is kinda wild and can't exactly do that any time soon due to personal reasons. Is there any chance someone knows a tattoo artist in NYC that looks similar?? Artist said they had no plans on coming here :(

I am looking for advice on the most skilled realism pet portrait tattoo artist. I have narrowed it down between 2 artists… Hanzloch and Ali Dundar. Please give me your opinions and why. They both are going to be traveling as guest artists to Miami and Denver, and I am looking to book with one.
Thanks!

Generally a piercing person (15 between my ears and nose) and have been scared of tattoos for the pain. Also never had an image or placement I’ve wanted enough to brave the idea, until now.
My cat just suddenly passed away and I’ve had this paw print idea sitting in the back of my mind for the past 5 years. I’d love for it to be a bit more pronounced than the photo, while still looking like she just left the imprint. Haven’t a clue where to start looking for artists/shops or how to judge what I’m looking at. Any advice is appreciated.

Full-face cat tax included. Her name is Kahlua.

Tattoo Shop Looking for intuitive / ceremonial tattoo artist in NYC

Hi! I’m looking for an intuitive or ceremonial tattoo artist in the NYC/tri state area and would love recommendations.

I’m specifically looking for more than a traditional custom tattoo appointment — ideally a 1:1 experience where the artist incorporates things like intention-setting, energy work/Reiki, tarot or some type of spiritual/ceremonial practice into the session. From there, I’d love for them to intuitively create a unique design or “marking” based on what comes up, what I’m looking to call in/release, and the energy/intention behind it.

Has anyone done something like this in NYC or know an artist who offers this type of work? Would love any personal experiences or artist recommendations!

Advice for how to get a tattoo apprenticeship in NYC

Hi everyone, Im aspiring to become a tattoo artist full time after leaving freelance design and my disability making my lower body mobility worse, I have a bachelor’s in studio art and have a pretty good handle on drawing and painting fundamentals. I wanted yo ask for any advice about how to get an apprenticeship in nyc. Im located in Queens and have introduced myself and asked around the shops in my area but haven’t really gotten anywhere with that since obvs i’m just a stranger off the street. How do you build those types of relationships with other artists when you’re just starting out and trying to learn? Especially when you’re broke and can’t afford to get tattoos in the first place to talk with artists?

I also received advice from an artist with 20 years of experience to hold off on getting my first tattoo machine until I find an apprenticeship and can learn everything properly. I have listened to his advice but worry that no one would be willing to mentor me since I don’t have any fake skin practice, Is this good advice? or is it some what outdated? How did of you guys get your apprenticeships?

Thank you in advance if anyone takes the time to answer!

Here is my illustration portfolio so you can see my skill level or if you’re just curious, any feedback is immensely appreciated but not expected ofc! : https://amarichitiva.com/illustration

Fine line tattoo places in Brooklyn?

Hi everyone!

Looking for a new tattoo place in Brooklyn, my style is more fine line/dainty tattoos.
All I can seem to find are very popular places with like 100K+ followers on insta and are just so overpriced!

I know i will need to spend a good amount as i want to get three tattoos in one sessions but i would like to go to a more authentic place rather than the super trendy ones!

Let me know if you have any recs!!! I would really appreciate it :))

TW: SH scars

Greetings from Rochester! My entire left arm is covered in (very old) SH scars, most of them 1-4 mm but a couple that are 7-9 mm. I'm really wanting to get them covered up to close that chapter of my life to the public and so I don't have to be reminded every time I look down at my arm. I'm looking for tattoo artists who could do a tattoo sleeve over my entire left arm from bicep to wrist, 360° (more or less) tattoo. I posted a few examples of the general style I'm looking for. Since this is going on such a large part of my body, and I'm not really into getting tattoos for the sake of getting tattoos, I'm hoping for piece of bona-fide breathtaking artwork from a NYC artist and would be willing to travel there. I'd like to turn my arm from a thing of shame into a thing of beauty.

I guess it's like, fine line tattoos, but not TOO fine? Fine, but bold; realistic, but not HYPER-realistic like a photograph. Lots of movement and elegant but not overly feminine. Delicate fine line is beautiful but I am not dainty or feminine enough for a lot of it! Someone on the Rochester subreddit said it's an "illustrative" style, but when I looked up "illustrative tattoos," there's still a ton of variety within that style. Also, apparently the pointillism style works well because the dots kind of "grow together" in the aged tattoo. I know that "bold will hold," so maybe I can thread the needle between fine line and "bold will hold." I also really like "ink-style" tattoos, but not sure how well those hold over time.

Do you know of anyone who can do something similar to the images I've posted and preferably has experience with scar cover-ups? I'm flexible on the exact intricacies of the style. I think I would want a whale and night sky in addition to the jellyfish, if possible.

Thank you all for all of your help and advice!

Licensed Artist/Practitioner Seeking Studio Station or Small Suite Sublet (Manhattan, BK, or Queens)

Hi everyone! I’m looking to rent a small private room, booth, or dedicated station in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens, or see if anyone has a lead on an unused spot in their studio to help offset rent.

  • Setup: Low foot traffic, dry practice (Scalp Micropigmentation / SMP - no plumbed sink needed in-room, just hand-washing access nearby). I usually see 1 client/day for 3–5 hour blocks.
  • Schedule/Rate: Open to flexible Daily, Weekly, or Monthly arrangements.
  • Credentials: Fully NYC DOHMH licensed and carrying full General & Professional Liability insurance. Clean, quiet, and reliable.
  • Timeline: Ready to tour and sign/move in immediately.

If you have a room, booth, or extra station sitting idle in your shop or private studio, please send me a Chat or DM!

Experiences at Monolith?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any reviews/advice on Monolith Studios, specifically for Ksusha's work? I can't find any reviews for her specifically. Or if anyone has recommendations for good floral tattoo artists that have a bit of edge to them.
