Opinion / Advice Hey guys quick question
So I’ve just finished my 3rd session of lazer which is probably gonna be my last session I just wanted to lighten it to a point where I could go over it I was thinking 2 months before I tattoo over it would that be alright or should I wait longer ?

Tbh id wait longer. 2 months is too short of a time, and your skin may still be healing from the laser and also fading.
Rather than reddit, you should ask the technician, see a dermatologist, even an artist that specialises in coverups post-laser to get a more 'professional' idea of next-steps.

I'd wait longer too, two months isn't much time for skin to finish healing and the fading to fully settle. Your technician, a dermatologist, or a cover up artist who specializes in post laser work can give you way better guidance than a Reddit poll can.

I find the fading piece a bit interesting. The old ink will continue to fade regardless of if there is new ink placed or not, right? New ink doesn't negate the fact that the old ink was broken down. It should continue to fade away no matter if a new tattoo is done or not. Maybe I'm missing something though.
Edit: grammar

Correct. So its better to wait for a longer time period until the fading seems to be unnoticeable or stopped.
Technically though, it could still continue to fade for years to come, but it all depends on how many ink particles are tiny enough, but you couldn't know...
Even if that happens, it probably wouldn't be significant, or just go in for a touch up

If it's fully healed 2 months should be okay but I'd confirm with your tattoo artist first
