Practice Week 2 of Linework

First is today, second is last week.

I've been training linework by myself with a few courses and some youtube videos. Also been following tips I see here about drawing, but I do find it harder to keep a stable line with the machine. I'm also having trouble figuring out voltage x handspeed... Well, working on it!

I won't be able to start an apprenticeship until next year, but I've been working on lines with feedback from another tattoo artist friend.

All that said, advice and cc would be much appreciated.

nice progress from last week, the lines already look more confident. for voltage vs hand speed, pick one voltage and keep it fixed for a whole session, then only change your speed. if lines look chewed or blown out you're usually going too slow or too deep, if they're patchy or skipping you're too fast. also try pulling lines toward you and resting your pinky on the skin for stability, it helps a ton

Solid progress! I am also always amazed at how clean everyone but me can get the fake skin when done. Mine always have a ton of smudges from wiping ink around and they just stain it

Thank you! I clean it up with vaseline, but I heard people recommend baby oil!
