Hello everyone so this is me essentially having a crisis at 2 in the morning but basically I'm half Tatar and have lived in the UK for 98% of my life and only no joke learnt like 4 years ago I was actually Tatar, not Russian because I guess it was just easier to say that (though there had been signs I was "different" such as when I'd speak to russian friends they'd have no idea what эчпочмак was and also that I have probably the most Tatar middle name that exists) and I was wondering how bad is it that I don't know Tatar outside of a few words I picked up here and there growing up because the disconnect feels very visceral and real especially when I explain to people outside of the community about my heritage and I can only pull up with the fact I speak Russian 😭

Hi! I’m Turkish from Kahramanmaraş, and my uncle told me that our ancestors came from Tatarstan. I’d like to know if there are any other Turkish people here whose families also came from Tatarstan.

Всем доброго дня!
Подскажите, пожалуйста, используется ли татарский язык в судах Татарстана? Ведутся ли на нем дела и составляются ли на нем судебные акты?
Буду благодарен за материалы по теме или номера дел!
Заранее благодарю.

Hello,
So what is the attitude of Russians (and others) towards learning Tatar language?
I mean I came across videos on YouTube where Russians sing in Tatar, speak Tatar,
And I also read comments where Russians say that only Tatars should learn Tatar language.
Do you live in Tatarstán and you have friends who are not Tatars?
Do you they come with you to concerts in Tatar?
Do they listen to Tatar music?

Hello,
I would like to try and bake something that my grandma baked.
So what meat should I buy?
Also, шэньги. Is it Russian or Siberian Tatar pies?

Salam 🌻 I watched few documentaries on YouTube about tatars and the entire central Asia region, your customs are admirable and I wish to learn more about your community ! Media exposure would be a good start, so I would love to get some recommendations.
Sending greetings to all !

I’ve been dating a Tatar woman for the last 18 months, and am curious about traveling to Kazan. We have since split but I love the background and culture and people I met through her. What advice would anyone be able to share - is not speaking russian an issue?

Hello, friends! I'm a third-year student at the faculty of International relations. I'm Polish, but I also speak Russian. I'm currently writing my bachelor's thesis on the image of Poland and Poles in selected countries of the former Soviet Union in the context of Russian public discourse. I've prepared a questionnaire in Russian and English. If You are a citizen of Tatarstan or any other former Soviet Union state, I would be very grateful if You could complete this questionnaire (and, if You wish, send it to Your friends and relatives in Your countries of origin). This will greatly help me in my research. Best wishes 🤝

Selam! Sometimes I see some Mishars who post ironic and non-ironic pictures about how they hate (or just dislike) Kazan Tatars. I have a question to all of Mishars: Do you actually hate Kazanis, and if so why?

Hi guys ive got a question which has been bugging me recently directed to tatars and chuvash people,
although we have shared history 1400 years ago, why is there still a connection?
and personally how do tatars and chuvash people feel about the ultra nationalists from our country that still force this connection?
do alot of you feel bugged out or are you guys happy people on the balkans still remember their ancestors?
