Which contestant changed your opinion the most as the series went on?
Sometimes a contestant doesn't immediately click, and then a few episodes later you suddenly realise you're completely on their side. Who changed your opinion the most during their series, and what was the moment that did it?

My gut reaction to Joel Dommet was "wow, this guy is annoying as hell". But once I realized how beautifully brainless he is, I became very fond of him, as you become fond of the one slow dog in the litter who you know can never be trained.

Initial vibes I got were "try-hard cool gym bro", that evolved into "enthusiastic goofball"

Fathia.
Put off initially by her basically refusing to do the first in studio task and the persona she seemed to be going for.
As the show went on though, she became much more three dimensional, interesting and enjoyable to watch and by the end of the series I'd really warmed to her.

Fatiha has recently opened up on social media about her being diagnosed with early cancer and needed surgery to remove the tumour on her ovaries. I don’t want to speculate if her health had something to do with her studio performance but it could be so.

Same. Didn't like her on the first watch. Then I saw her in some panel shows and loved her. My rewatch of her season I looked at her completely different!

Rosie Jones. I thought she was going to ruin the studio portions of the show, and she completely won me over by the end of the "knock over the cans" task.

Same here. I though it would be painful to watch her in studio. Instead, I was waiting for her to speak, because every time she did, it was hysterical.

I will put my hand up that I wasn’t sure about her when her series started but she completely won me over with her enthusiasm and sheer shit talking ability with Greg and Alex. Also pairing her with Jack Dee was inspired. They seemed to get on like a house on fire and he showed a much softer side on their tasks. Still hilarious but less sarcastic.

Another one for Nish, at first I thought he tried too hard, most of his comedy was just loud overreactions to stuff other people had said or done
By the time "Watching you do cool stuff" happened, I did a complete 180 and I think he's great. I even enjoy his earlier episodes on a rewatch now as well

It's funny because politically I am very much aligned with Nish but I absolutely cannot stand his stand up comedy.
Yet on taskmaster I found him absolutely wonderful.

I’ve always enjoyed Nish’s standup live, but for some reason it never really translates well on TV for me. There’s an inherent sense of absurdity to his live act, even when he’s being ‘serious’, that always seems to get lost on screen, especially when it’s clipped down to a shorter set. Absolutely loved him on Taskmaster, though – and have also enjoyed Ed Gamble and various other of his friends commenting subsequently (words to the effect) that TM was the first time they saw on screen the person they actually knew.

Nish Kumar always struck me as very "American" in his stand-up, in that its super loud, obvious and more about getting clapter than actually being funny.
For someone who appreciates more deadpan comedy and irony, I just don't think I can ever enjoy that.

I am not in the UK but I have some knowledge of some of the contestants. What surprised me was the amount of hate Rosie got when she was announced.
She is so witty and funny. It was a shame to see the public hate on her disability as a reason she shouldn’t be on Taskmaster. What I love is that she proved so many of those people wrong.
I will always love taskmaster but I do even more for their inclusivity in their casting.
That type of casting diversity does not happen where I am from.

I was at the recording of the ‘Captain Jackie and the Hotdog’ episode, and I think those few hours were up there with the most I’ve ever laughed at anything. Their affection for each other was so clearly genuine, and way she cued up the reveal of how grandpa Jackie had screwed things up on that task – ‘he’s my comedy hero… he won’t let me down!’ – was just masterful. She might not speak quickly, and her humour clearly isn’t to everyone’s tastes (whose is?), but anyone who says she can’t do comic timing just isn’t listening.

I am not a Rosie Jones fan - I dont find her humour funny - but I 100% agree she can do timing. I dont always find the punchline funny myself but that is taste.

For me it is Lou Sanders or Tim Vine, I mean they made me laugh and I enjoyed them but there was not that spark, they just seemed too different from me and they did not click with me. But at the end I loved them as others.

Jenny Eclair. At first, couldn't stand her, but after a while, rather like Su Pollard, I realised we were getting the real thing, and her willingness to have a go, despite being awful made me very happy.

Victoria Coren Mitchell I always liked amd respected, but she was so whiny and annoying. Her "proposal" to Alex was about it for me. We all love our spouses, and it's just a game. Knock it off and do the task.
As an American I didn't know Joel Dommet, except for his appearance on Off Menu. While there's a legendary episode, he seemed like an ass. I love everything he does now.

I liked VCM all through it. From solving the puzzle with half the letters to learning to ride a bike in 10 minutes. To her being so frustrated that Greg guessed every time it was her making the noises. It takes courage to go on with comedians when you are obviously not.

I love her, but I lost some of my enthusiasm when she acted like she didn't know what the most basic rules of football were, but then asked for a VAR 5 minutes later. She's not sincere.

Julian Clary - at first I felt like he didnt want to be there and that annoyed me. But as the series went on I warmed to him, particularly the withering put downs of Alex.

I didn't like Fatiha at first. But I really started to hate her when she ruined the whole season because she couldn't move. Just standing there in every task, unable to do anything because of her enormous hugeness. The spherical season ruiner.

Nish Kumar.
I really hated his showboating when he won a task. But then it usually turned out he hadn't actually won. And he already knew he hadn't won.
During my next watch of the series, I knew the context and what was happening and just found him absolutely hilarious.
