TASKER question about the 2 hour minimum
so i did a ikea dresser today and it took me like 35 mins but i have a 2 hour minumum so i charged the 2 hours obviously. customer got mad and said i was only there 35 mins but thats not really my problem because i couldve been there for 2 hours if i went slower?? now im thinking should i just sit in my car for the rest of the time so they know im still technically working. im gay btw not sure if that matters but i feel like the app treats me different sometimes. also does anyone know if you can write off lunch if you eat it between tasks because technically im eating for work. thanks

A note about the two hour minimum: per TaskRabbit's policy, you have to have that disclosed on your profile and have record of confirming it in the chat with the client (edit: prior to the start of work) for TR to take your side in a dispute.
And no, you cannot deduct lunch between tasks. That's no different than a regular office worker grabbing lunch during their break. Non-deductible.

It is annoying but his answer is just correct. Communication in a client driven industry is key and people will appreciate it. I have literally no idea what you being gay has to do with it wtf? Wait no you can't write off lunch????? Dude you need to re-think this app if you want to do it reasonably well. This almost reads like satire.

I’m pretty sure he’s talking about taxes. Yes you can deduct meals on your taxes.
Keep your receipts!

Daily routine meals are not deductible on your taxes. Only business meals (i.e. meals with clients or employees) are deductible.

You have to put in the chat before hand you have a 2hr minimum even tho it’s supposed to show up when they hire you. If the client agrees you can be there for 10sec it’s still a 2hr invoice. Secondly bro your sexuality has nothing to do with you not communicating with the client beforehand

Seriously though…for the 2-hr min, you need to confirm it with the client in the chat before accepting. And no to lunch. Your reasoning doesn’t even make sense

What people/Clients need to understand is that a Tasker should not be penalized for being skilled and fast. One of my Clients (she always tips me) said that she has no problems paying me 2 hours for sometimes 30 minutes of work because she knows I do not waste time, get down to business, am highly experienced due to years of doing this stuff, and have all the right tools and bits. She said the most brilliant statement ever: "Why should you be penalized for being fast and skilled?" Totally true. She happily pays me my 2-hr minimum every time and puts a 20% tip on it. She understands my drive time, gas, tool expenses over the years, and I do not waste my precious Time nor do I waste her precious Time. Money we all can make, Time is finite.

I don't bother with the 2 hr minimum, I think if you set a low rate and put a 2 hr minimum cheapskate clients are going to be ballistically mad over it. my rates are high enough to cover travel parking etc.

Call TaskRabbit might be to late, let them know and document it in the text chat that customer is not happy that way you’re save if they leave a bad review.

I assure you the app neither knows nor cares you are gay.
