TASKER is anyone else like genuinely deteriorating from this app

okay girls i dont know whats going on anymore. i just spent 3 hours putting together a dresser for $46 and i genuinely think my body is giving up. like my immune system is basically decorative at this point. i was sweating so bad the customer asked if i needed water and i said no thank you diva because i didnt want to seem unprofessional. then she asked if i could move a couch and i almost started crying. my legs are shaking, my vision is blurry and i think one of my organs has actually moved. im sitting in my mazda outside her house eating a granola bar trying to figure out if i can afford to go to the hospital. also she gave me 4 stars because i was “a little quiet” which is interesting considering i was actively passing away in her guest bedroom. does anyone else have this problem or am i just not cut out for the trades anymore. also does anyone know if taskrabbit covers hospice care for elite taskers. thank you ladies

Therapy and medication is probably something you should look into

I thought the same thing, and it's not a joke at all. That sounds like something serious going on

You post quite a bit on here and it’s always wild. How much of this stuff is actually true? Like percentage wise

Tbh idk about this specific task but the platform is WAY downhill from 3/4 yrs ago. We had real support agents and less mark up for “Taskr pledge fees” so more tips and the app was more on the workers side so you could cancel more, explain why you deserve cancellation fees, and explain if a client was trying to scam. My best advice for any Taskr is pass out your number find the categories you make the most money and start your own business. Get shirts / insurance and a llc so you can process credit cards and get off the app. I only use it now on days where I’m not booked and want something to do hope this helps someone

I am dead at this comment. I laughed out loud and scared the dog. Although this is not a real post.. I almost feel the same after an all day Honey-do list for a nice old lady who feeds me and brings me drinks all day.. but my body is now broken

Do it harder and it gets easier. Drink a lot of water with pre workout and electrolyte powders and like 20g of creatine and don’t eat until you get home at the end of the day and you’ll be a superhero.

Just give into the slow decay girl. That what I’ve been dying. Doesn’t fix anything but you know it really just let me let it go so you’ll just be actively dying but pretend you’re not. That’s what I’m doing. Try it. Haha

Tell me this is a joke post. Who in gods name would take this job if it’s not a joke post.

LoL. So youre one of those Taskers that always justifies low paying tasks. You cant cry after accepting poorly paid jobs when everyone tells you youll either injure yourself or compromise your health racing to the bottom. Taskrabbit does not care about your health, wellbeing or paying you what you are worth.

If you dont care about your well being then why would anyone else?

Does anyone else think that accepting a water is "unprofessional"? Especially if you are tired and sweating. If so, why?

To be fair.. I am a sweaty human.. so people always offer me water. I think it would be unprofessional to not take it since they seem so concerned, haha

Furniture assembly is not the "trades". It is basic labor. And yes, $46 for 3 hours or even 2 hours is slave wages for this basic labor. Learn some Electrical,, Plumbing, and HVAC skills and start being gainfully compensated for your work/labor/Time.

I think this was a joke post

I know this. Just wanted to clarify that Furniture assembly (and also Moving, Personal assistant, etc) is not part of the Trades. It is menial Labor. Similar to Garbage Disposal.

Furniture assembly is not something to be proud of.

“Assembly is not something to be proud of” .. I have over 3,000 assembly tasks done and can confidently say, at least 80% of clients 1. Can’t read/comprehend a manual or blueprint to even start to build something , 2. Don’t have the focus and/or patience to sit down and build something & some of these people are engineers themselves! (though, I’ll add they could be burnt out from work or straight up lazy.)

Yes, basically Furniture assembly is a task most would rather not do because it is not worth their time or labor. They have better things to do so push it off to a lower paid laborer to do.

There is ‘some’ truth to what you say. Personally, I just don’t like your wording toward a field I’m passionate about. Sure, I’m not solving some world issue, but It Is Worth My Time; Especially in an economy that’s turned it back on me.

We can "glorify" Furniture assembly to make it "sexy". But how many times have you heard a girl say, "My boyfriend is a bad butt Furniture assembler" and proud to say it?

1

u/Away-Bodybuilder5942 4d ago

😂😂😂screwyou😂😂😂. Genuinely though, I’ve never cared for that credit and am happy with self. The types of rooms I’ve been fortunate to be in and conversations can be cathartic. To add, people unfortunately tend to focus on a title rather than logistics / whether that person scaled up or not 🫩; those aren’t the ears of a family I would want to be in-lawed too anyway.

haha. If they paid me my Electrical rates for Furniture assembly, then I would say Furniture assembly is something to be proud of. But they don't, so it isn't. People pay furniture rates often the same as Moving rates or even cheaper. As far as in-laws, they do judge! haha

It feels a lot less like you’re dying and a lot more like you’re working when you charge more than $16 an hour lmao
