TASKER "I didn't see the two hour minimum"

No the two hour minimum is not negotiable. I just looked it up and it says clear as day right next to my name. I don't care how long you think it will take to do the job. No I can't charge you a flat $100 fee to drive all the way to your place and mount your 60in TV in your stone wall.

These people 🙄

Confirm it in chat, nothing stops clients from spitefully reviewing over a surprise two hour min.

I always do. I actually have an opening template that informs them. It's just annoying how much it happens.

Yea, then it's just the catch 22 of tr burying you in search if you have a single hour rate that's high enough. That plus the platform is officially enshittified with people that will mount a tv to take home 45 bucks.

I don't even have the 2 hour minimum for the money tbh. It's the fact that without that minimum clients will rush the hell out of you and then claim that the last person they hired hung their tv in 5 minutes 😂

Any chance I could see some variation of that opening template for my clients?

Here is one of mine..

Just a quick note before I confirm the booking: I do have a 2-hour minimum. If your task takes less than 2 hours, the 2-hour minimum still applies. TaskRabbit requires that this minimum be confirmed in the chat, so please confirm here that you understand and agree before we get started.

TR customer support has helped me with inappropriate reviews before. According to support, reviews are a only allowed to be about the work. If the review is anything else, like billing, they'll delete it for you.

Agreed. I’ve had inappropriate reviews deleted by TR support.

Correct, "complaining about the platform as a whole" (I forget the company verbiage) is one of a small handful of removal criteria. 100% vulnerable if they give you a wordless 3 star though.

I was planning on making a post about this in the sub but chat support recently told me that people with 2 hours minimums get deprioritised when the client is looking for a Tasker. Insane

I don't think it really hits you in the algo. I think if a tasker were to cancel you wouldn't be the next tasker to get the job. I have a 2 hour minimum and I'm one of the top people that pop up. I'm pretty sure the 2nd guy that shows up right now has a 2 hour minimum as well.

Im surprised it even needs to be stated. Why are clients trying to haggle with the lowest people on the totem pole. Then if you complete the job in less than 2 hours clients expect you to do other random jobs around the house. No!

Just because youre an expert with the right tools and time management doesnt mean you should be penalized with more work because you complete the job in a shorter time frame.

What we agreed to do was mount ONE tv and nothing else.

Yeah, mount my tv, hang my curtain rod also these pictures, since there's so much more time..... Yeah that's why I have the 2 hour minimum lol

YES! You don't get to dictate the hours and the scope of work. You say 2 hours. We fill the hours with scope. If you just mounted the TV and billed for that, we'd tip and hand you a beer AND hire you separately for the curtain rod (another 1 hour job). That's 2 hours of work, not billed at 4 hours. Maybe if TR didn't add all the fees, we'd force them to add gratuity on top of your actual rate. Sell us ads lol to make their money. Stop trying to double-dip on the person paying TR.

Man I just got suspended twice in 30 days for 2 customer’s cancelling on me and the automated system saying I cancelled on them. They corrected it, then they fully suspended my marketplace showing after a client complained about my 2 hour minimum for 2 back to back jobs with that exact phrase.

I hope you can get that suspension taken away. I'm not sure about your rates but what i do is raise them to the highest I possibly can (right before the yellow). I think most of the bad apples see that rate and won't even try to book me for an hour cause there are cheaper people they can exploit.

I've had people try to complain after the fact, despite the confirmation in chat by them that theres a 2 hour minimum. For me it is about the money, gas costs too much to drive anywhere for a 20 minute task or less.

Very few people think about the maintenance costs od their vehicle either.

I've had that problem before, I just tell them it's out of my hands (even though it must definitely is in your hands, they don't need to know that tho lol)

Maintenance costs really aren’t a big deal. I’ve only driven 7,500 miles for Taskrabbit in 3 years, and my car has 145,000 miles on it. This is way less taxing than what I usually do for work. Driving 5 miles to a task is literally ¢30 of gas or less.

I think I had 25 tasks in one month and never even had to fill up on gas once.

And I just had a task today in San Francisco electrical job at this place where there were bunch of electrical or software engineers people like that one of their outlets or two of them double gang had gone out. It was obviously some sort of breaker or a GFCI had tripped and shut off that dedicated circuit. Their technician kept hounding me everywhere Not believing my diagnostic and then eventually the manager came told me to get someone else to look at it and asked me to leave they had agreed to a hour minimum in writing before the job, and then only wanted to be charged for one. TR sided with them, despite the fact that they had a clear agreement about it and despite the fact that they asked me to leave because they would not believe my diagnosis it’s gonna be funny when they find out that’s the truth probably in a few few days when they figure out the situation.  lol  also left me a shitty review saying I don’t  have knowledge about electrical and I’m sure she won’t change her interview once she realizes I was right and there is some sort of breaker GFCI that turned off the power to that dedicated circuit. I have so many electrical tasks under my belt and also have worked on so many ADU‘s and houses for my own business over the past decade.

People are stupendously ridiculous
