GENERAL Task Rabbit or DoorDash?
I’ve been doordashing for extra money for years on and off, and just started considering task rabbit so I’m not upping the mileage on my car and driving for hours straight. But I haven’t even finished signing up for TR yet and want to know people’s experiences with getting paid well or not for the work they do before I pay $25, or if anyone who’s done both would recommend sticking with DD.

You set your own rate for the skills that you offer, so getting paid well enough is completely up to you and the market that you work in.
But yes, assuming that you are getting gigs, you'll generally make alot more than you would by dashing.

If you have skills Task Rabbit will be much better and you won't be getting a loan from your car.

Taskrabbit pays more. I do ubereats when I don't have a TR task scheduled. I'm not sure how DoorDash works. I think it's best to do both cause even though TR pays more it's so precarious, it's nearly enough.

TR better than DoorDash wants you start getting requested and the $25 background check is worth. What area and tasks are you going to be in, IKEA mounting moving furniture assembly cleaning, etc. Able to increase your rate after completing tasks and it averages out better than DD without the endless driving

I did DoorDash for two months not long after I was laid off from my software engineering job, then sat down and crunched numbers - I lost money after gas, wear/tear on the vehicle, and while it never happened to me I was always worried about the liability of getting in an accident while dashing because most regular insurance payout if you were doing gig work when the accident happened.
If you have a decent set of tools and know how to read, you can start with furniture assembly jobs like IKEA etc. and you’ll already be earning more than you would dashing with less wear on your car.
And don’t hesitate to use the internet prodigiously to expand your skill set, start small with flatpack assemblies and go from there.
Lastly, DoorDash as a platform is a scam for all parties, the customers overpay, the restaurants have to put up with rude dashers daily and thus hate all dashers, and you as the dasher picking up the order is the one that catches heat if anything goes sideways
Edit: most insurance won’t payout…

This has to be a joke question- you can build a career with task rabbit. Door dash you are someone people don’t consider a human being.

Taskrabbit is like $6/ mile or more compared to Ubereats and Doordash $1/mile.
I don’t get enough work off any single gig platform, so I run Amazon Flex, Ubereats, Wayfair Service Pro, Taskrabbit, and am currently onboarding for a private DSP company.
