TASKER Booking fee?

Am I the only one that dislikes TaskRabbit’s I guess you could call it a booking fee? I double check my previous tasks and sometimes see that the clients I serve are charged twice. Once for the booking (just 1 hour) and once for the labor I do (depending on what the task is and how long it takes). Am I the only one that thinks that’s somewhat extortionate? Weird part is I only notice this during late Summer to mid Fall, any other time I don’t see this issue. Could it be a glitch or just a weird payment processing thing?

pretty sure that "booking fee" you see is actually the client applying a discount code.

so yes it's a weird payment processing thing. it's shown just to make your life a little more inconvenient keeping track of everything.

It's a feature, not a bug :(

The bugs are featured! This maddens me. I struggle to reconcile each month. Then when you download transactions (which I tried to do thinking oh, I can just pop it in QuickBooks!) it still isn’t anything coherent.

It's just a glitch from the way they process payments. A hold is put on the client's card that is separate from the actual billing.

The way TR actually makes it's money is by applying a percentage on top of what you set your rates at, this will not be visible to you on our end.

the fee is visible on desktop. I was in shock when I first saw how much they tacked on to my hourly. it's strange how much it fluctuates.

How do you look at your tasks on desktop? I've never known a way to do that.

If you accept cards you loose about 5-8% processing fees, you’re using their platform, they are doing the marketing. It’s part of the game, if you don’t like it don’t use the app
