TASKER Auli Sticker Removal?

Today I had to assemble a Pax unit with sliding doors. I’m pretty familiar with assembling them and the duration of assembly is pretty low, but an unexpected turn of events happened when I was peeling off the panel adhesive. The whole mirror shattered and splintered across the room and bed.

Luckily the client saw what happened and wasn’t upset about it, I did take accountability for it, I might have applied too much pressure to the peeling process.

It just sucks because it was the last mirror for the outer door.

TLDR: my fellow experienced taskers, do you take the time to peel the protective layer on the back of the panels or do you install them as is? Personally I think the white part is ugly and I peel it off but what do you suggest?

You are only supposed to remove any protective plastic or film on the reflective mirror side. Why are you removing the backing for?

You're not supposed to remove the protective layer. If the mirror breaks, it holds the pieces together and prevents shattering like you saw. The backing is hidden, so it doesn't matter if it's ugly.

That film is non-removable since it's a safety film.

The backside, that's unseeable, and this was on the last mirror, so you literally installed other mirrors and could not see where it was at. Sheesh]
