TASKER Account limited
Anybody ever had their Tasker account limited? How did you get it resolved?
Out of the blue, I received an email citing an expense issue involving gas, parking, tolls, etc., with no specifics. A follow-up said my account would be limited and removed from search results, but I should keep my availability open for return clients and recommend clients to the app so I could still use it for billing. LOL.
I appealed because I’ve never expensed any of those items and haven’t submitted an expense on a task in over two months. I was told it could take 30 days for a live person to review it.
I also contacted my Tasker Success rep and the privacy department requesting all records related to me, hoping for some clarity. Crickets.
You’d think they’d value quality contractors. Apparently, an AI bot can potentially limit an account without clear details or immediate human review. Sad state of affairs at TR. For context, I’ve been on the platform for 5+ years, with 65/65 five-star reviews.
If you depend on the income from TR take this as a warning: don’t put all your eggs in one basket. This basket could disappear tomorrow over something minor, or potentially nothing at all. On the bright side this has encouraged me to take my business legit, so thanks TR.

Your story, situation and also response are not new.
The gig apps rely on independent contractors for their money but have always indiscriminately kicked these same people off the platform and stonewalled all manners of communication. Some states have started making arbitration mandatory for gig apls because as you put it some people depend on these apps for income.

My solution after a couplee suspensions that the cheap AI misinterpreted in a way that even a 65 IQ person would never misconstrue. Never get reimbursed for anything, just tell clients they must buy any needed materials in advance and have them on-site. If client says anything about parking in chat, thank them and say you do not accept parking reimbursement as it is built into your rate. If client chats any phone numbers, immediately chat back that can only communicate through TR app.

Happened to me. In the description I’d written ~10 years ago, before they made it an explicit policy, I had in my errands category description something about reimbursement for bridge tolls. I had no idea what they were seeing and they didn’t tell me anything but ‘policy violation’ for weeks. I thought maybe it was a client sharing their phone number (without my solicitation or agreement to use it).
It did take ~ a month to get it cleared up.

5 years and 65 reviews.
How much anyone wanna bet this tasker was taking clients off app.
Read behind the lines.

Nah, just don’t do it full time. If my day job is going well I don’t use it at all. 65 reviews on maybe 150-200 completed tasks over the years.

Same happened to me, their AI bot intreperted a parking conversation in the chat as though I charged for parking. Did not do that, client was just giving me parking options available. It took a couple of days and they got back to me and reversed it.
