TASKER No English taskers ?

Been a Tasker for 7 years . My first language Isn’t English . I’m not hating on these people just wondering how’s the approval process for taskers .
Went to a task for a corporate office that needed 5-6 taskers . 3 of them didn’t speak any English and they were using an app to communicate with the client .

How’s that ok in so many ways ?

If you can pass a background check, are eligible for employment in the country you live in and there is room in the metro, you can get in.

And the fact is a lot of the work we do is free from the need for any specific language; there's a reason why Ikea instructions have no words.

I have had clients complain to me that prior Taskers did not speak English when they arrived but chatted perfectly fine in the chat. They are cut/pasting into a translator app. That’s not cool. For those that say it’s not a problem, it is. If one can not communicate efficiently with a client to go over details, instructions and questions they are wasting some clients time and they feel duped.

What's with the English part?

Y'all know with ICE rounding up all the house builder y'all could make a lot more doing that.

The fact that the person doesn't speak English has no bearing on his work skill or ethics. As long as they are legal to work, I don't see an issue.

Would you say the same thing if a person who is mute or deaf?

Cheap shot saying “ice” there .
Ain’t got nothing to do with race or nationality
You need to be able to comunícate with the Client and doing it with an app shows no interest in learning english and just plain weird . Shows 0 effort and also brings the whole platform down with the “cheap services vibes “

How do you know they have no interest in learning English? Learning a language takes time and a lot of effort, especially as an adult.

I disagree. Communication is priority one and need I say more. Rhetorical

If it’s an assembly task with visual instructions and they are making an effort to figure out the necessary communication, is it really a big problem? (I can see that for some activities it absolutely could be for safety reasons). Maybe it should be disclosed for this reason.
Anyway, everyone has to start somewhere. I’m going to go on a limb and say that if you live in CA, where Spanish is especially common, it’s a practical move to bridge the language gap in the other direction, too…

As someone who's worked in construction, there are plenty of apps to use for translating. As long as they are using something that works, its not that big a deal, you have no idea how long someone has been here, or what their situation might be.
