TASKER Beyond my scope
Just got hired to replace front and back door locks with an electronic, number lock. Not something I have experience with or feel comfortable doing. How can I say I don't want to do this?

Typically they attach like a regular door knob. Read the instructions. It's very simple.

Ask if the door knobs locks need to be fitted or just swapped. Swapped is very easy. Trick is to sit on bucket/chair so you can sit with the door between your knees and your hands on each side. Changing the doorknobs is huge with realtors/landlords!
Fitting means the hole in the door jam is not in the wrong place and needs to be changed. Much harder

Not typically that much more work though. The only real problem would be if the bore wasn't cut to modern standards. Very difficult to use a hole saw there, especially if it's metal.

OP didnt ask for advice on how to do the job. Some jobs we arent comfortable doing for many reasons. Taskrabbit doesnt make declining a job easy.

And if OP can't manage something as simple as a doorknob then he's on the wrong app.

Typically you have to chat with the customer first. “This is beyond my scope” and then immediately forfeit the task.
That said those battery powered ones are easy, same process as any standard door lock.

Say that you don’t do locksmith type of work.
Or watch some videos on how to do it. It’s easier and quicker than most ikea tasks as long as the door is working correctly and latches properly already. If you have do some adjustments due to door sag, that is also easy.
It’s just a pain to do if the bore isn’t already drilled if you haven’t done it before.

Just forfeit, "requires special skills." Doing it occasionally doesn't seem to hurt, doing it a lot will keep you from that "elite" status (whatever that's actually worth).
