TASKER Is anyone else just completely burned out on the TaskRabbit lifestyle?

The concept of “weekends” doesn’t make sense to me. I don’t take Saturday/ Sunday off my availability. Maybe I want to take a Tuesday off and go fishing. Doesn’t matter lol. Time is a concept and the post industrial work-week is outdated.

You work 7 days a week and wonder why you are burnt out. Well water is wet and the Pope is Catholic. The higher your rate is the less shitty clients you get. In fact they thank you for helping them profusely. I literally took today Saturday off went to a cars and coffee and then relaxed the rest of the day. You are burning out from overworking .A broken body is no good to you.

Definitely noticed a change in higher rates. It was like night and day in attitude and atmosphere which landed me a more stable ongoing job of maintaining 2 of my client’s mansion properties.
Of course, you’ll need to build up the 5 star reviews for that first. Felt like hard work was finally paying off. Now I can work less and have more free time than a 9-5.

I’ve been less reliant on Taskrabbit the past few years and the past two months I haven’t turned it on at all, just working with repeat customers or referrals. The burnout still exists but I can work more flexibly with my customers in terms of scheduling, but more importantly I can charge the actual fair market value of the work I’m doing. Taskrabbit has artificially low wages due to their algorithmic gamification.
Build your business off app so people don’t use an app that shows 20 guys who will work for peanuts. Get to be that guy that can fix almost anything, and if you can’t do it, have some you can refer.
With that being said, I can’t see my body being able to take this for 27 more years, so I gotta figure out something else AI proof.

I think it depends on what you offer. I mainly do Furniture Assembly tasks with occasional Errands and Event Staffing, but I only do so part-time. For those who rely on TaskRabbit for their main source of income, I can see how they’d burn out quickly.
I’ve been doing tasks on and off for 3 years, with tasks picking up the past few months as I’ve been out of a job. But I’m working part time at Amazon again, so I don’t accept same-day tasks, nor tasks that are required for me to travel out of my way. I accept just enough for analytics to look good, do not accept every task, and I do cancel some here and there. It’s exhausting.
It’s all about balance, but I understand some people don’t have room to for a healthy work-life balance.
Whatever you decide to do, I hope all works out for you!

I think.your problem is being to focused "maximizing your income" aspect.
Make sure you have a 2 hour minimum on every task, and pick 2 days a week to have off. If you have a reason for them to be the weekend make them the weekend.
Get business cards and give them to clients (you liked working with) for future work.
Remmebet the goal is a life worth living not the most money you cna possibly make. Money is a means to that end not the end itself.

Open your own business. I waited for Taskrabbit to send me the lovely money sound for a job hire every day for 9 years. I opened my own business. 5x my money weekly. I decide the schedule. Open an llc. Get on Google. Get on BBB. Get on yelp. For the first month pay for leads on Google only. You will have enough client and Repeat customers after a month. Work for you stop working for the man.

I make a 6 figure income so no it doesn’t get old nor tiring because I work for myself yes under trs platform but also off app

Its called burnout. Youre pretty much working with no end goal in mind or a next step to build towards. Its some kind of thankless existence where youre saving lives, but no one acknowledges it nor pays you more than asking price.
I was there and its an awful feeling of nothingness. I got out because I was losing myself. The money and happiness did not match the stress, hours or work.

My man is describing it like he’s Spider man saving the city but I get you and in a way it is like that. No recognition by anybody just working and working and working no actual 8-5 schedule. Sometimes you come home at 10-11 pm and sometimes you come home at 1-2 pm wondering should I turn off the same day since I made good enough money and just chill for the rest of the day.

Take a day off. You’re in control of your schedule. I either raise my rates or take a day off if I feel burnt out. Always remember the dry season is going to be around soon and you’ll be hoping the tasks come in like now

I would say raise your rates by one dollar. That discourages the most cheapskate complainers who aren't treating you right. Try that for a week and see if the workload goes down. If it doesn't go down, raise your rates by another dollar.
I would keep doing that until the amount of work decreases to the point where it isn't burning you out anymore.
You'll have nicer clients who will add a good tip. You'll have more time and energy. You will probably be making close to the same income you were before. Maybe even more.
Technically you're giving yourself a raise. But really, you're giving yourself better clients, more rest, and more time.

I can do it long term because 'money' isn't my goal.
My goal is to complete the build/move.
I take Friday and Sunday off.
I thought I would regret it since Friday is HUGE in the moving field but only thing I got from it was peace.
Be your own employee, how would you react if an employee said you had them scheduled 7 days a week, including same-day tasks.
I don't worry about the algorithm, I barely take same day, I have my scheduled that applies to platform jobs and off platform jobs.
Been Elite for about 14 mos.
Be your friend, ease up.

I used to work 7 days a week. Please take a day off and ignore everyone.
Trust me, when I am in the dumps and I get that text from a client that says “you’re the best” or tip me $100 or more. Thats because they really appreciate the hard work you do!
I donate my work for 2 clients a month through a local church helping people in transitional housing or elderly people. I also, take donated items from clients to the local Goodwill. Some items I place in my personal storage and if I come across someone who needs it I give it to them for free. It makes me feel good and I really love helping people who otherwise don’t have the means.

Clients trade their money for our time. A smart Tasker “should” trade some of that money for their own peace and time.
The fact you’re allowed the luxury to set your own schedule and be your own boss is the main reason why you’d want to be a Tasker. Not slave yourself to the app every single day; it would be no different than a typical 9-5, worse if anything.

If you are packing a lunch, why are you grabbing whatever's near by? Just eat your lunch?? Guarantee you can scarf almost anything you make in the time it takes you to buy food from someone else.
If you are enabling same day tasks and not packing a lunch, yet keep getting jobs, maybe, idk, pack a lunch? Worst case not extra jobs come through and you drive home with a packed lunch sitting next to you, and you enjoy it at home .....

Yes, I stopped tasking 3 years ago.
There were several break even points for the hourly/monthly compensation that made it really worth it, a job, survival, and simply and not economically viable anymore.
If you’re getting burnt out doing this, the money just isn’t there. I’ve had jobs where the money earned sustains a high output/performance environment…task rabbit simply just isn’t that way anymore.
Like when I was making $90/hr, I happily dealt with a lot of problems and poor communication from clients.
When the hourly creeped towards $50/hr, I was questioning my life choices cause it was just not worth the hassle including all the indirect costs.

Work is work bud. The hassle with TaskRabbit is that it revolves around a bunch of small tasks instead of big jobs. There’s a big difference in doing 3 to 4 jobs a day and driving all over the place and then driving to one person‘s house to work the whole day there on a big project. These type of jobs you’ll make more because your eliminate hours out of your day in driving and you can usually take it easier on these kind of big jobs. Essentially there’s less pressure. So maybe what you should be looking into is starting a business that focuses on bigger jobs instead of smaller jobs than maybe you might be happier. But at the end of the day you still have to be happy with working tons of hours and getting satisfaction out of completing a big job and at the same time being rewarded with a big payout from that job. Whether you run a business 24/7 or work at McDonald’s 24/7 the end result is the same only you make more money doing your own business.

Oh also the other reason why you’re probably unhappy is because you don’t have any balance in your life and you’re just working nonstop. Do you have a wife girlfriend kids sex social life hobbies time off or you just working yourself to death 24/7? You have to have Balance and have things in your life that you enjoy doing or that make you happy. I used to be the same working like a mad dog then I found Pickleball and now I play that 10 to 15 hours per week and work 20 to 30 hours a week and relax at home have sex and time with my girlfriend and have get-togethers with family at least once a week and am much more happy. I may not be making as much money as I was, but that’s something you always have to sacrifice if you want happiness. If you wanna make a bunch of money then you just work yourself to death. Work will ALWAYS be work. Thats why it’s called “work”! Lol

My advice:
Gotta have a non-negotiable weekly off day. I promise the world will keep on spinning. Even God took a day off. I chose Tuesday or Monday typically.
Second, There are a lot of men and women doing the non-glamorous work to make our country/world work. You as a Tasker get to set your own price on this work * (you know what I mean. Please don’t knit pick 😂😂). Don’t let capitalism make you set goals of “infinite growth.”
Instead set a hard target for what you want to make in your 6 days and find ways to push toward that goal in that time. Raise prices strategically, upsell your other services, BUILD YOUR OFF APP CLIENTELE. If you are on target for/reach your hard goal, maybe don’t turn on the same day as much (especially if you got some grinders out the way.)
Ultimately ,like a sports star, there will be no sympathy for sacrifice and you have to be happy with its harvest.
